I went to the specifics of the game mechanics which comprised of the hitboxes, weapon balance, and kill times.
This will be interesting, my writing style is more suited to argumental writing such as political debates or any important scientific or religious issues.
I personally would like to see this essay and I believe many people need to see it as well, people need to reinstate their faith and awe in Halo 3 just as they did on that day 4 years ago Yesterday.
I like reading about aspects of the Halo Universe such as canon story, characters/species etc. But no article is detailed enough to explain the pure mechanics of the game which only tedious testing and many hours of gameplay can reveal.
Here's a few random facts to help:
The Hitbox system is quite simply F***ed up, It focuses on frontal character models and is not technically 3 dimensional i.e Elites necks do not absorb any damage.
The weapons themselves are mostly balanced, what isn't balanced is player skill and the abundance of that particular weapon. Weapon damage is easier to rectify than the others so various patches have been released.
Kill time is always relative, much like everything in Halo 3, game conditions i.e lag are also different so make sure you include that there are no definitive results only very educated guesses. 4 shots to the head should cause a kill, but due to connection factors those four shots may not happen on the receiving players screen, then there is host domination etc.
I'm sure you've detailed some of this, but just make sure you put the last two paragraphs in a concise 2-3 lines.
