Halo reach alone on legendary! Message me to play halo wars, too. im the only person here who likes halo wars.

Do the locusts come out of their shell, fly away, and make noise?

  • 09.25.2011 12:07 PM PDT

covies...this isnt even a match up...its like trying to say who'd win superman or a new-born child

the covies have advanced vehicals, guns and armour, the locus have crap weapons crap armour, and no vehicals except for a dog and a flying thing plus bromacks, a lone banshee can take all thoses out..

The Covenant would just glass all of the holes the Locust come out of... Plus do the Locust have energy shield tech? Another thing is that half of the weapons that the Locust have are stolen from Cogs.

They devolope their own as well, like the Hammerburst, Boomshot, Boltok and Gorgon pistols, which are reasonably powerful in their own right, but generally, energy weapons beat out bullets.

Covies, even if it was a ground only battle. The only advantage the Locust have is ingenuity and surprising intelligence (like their MacGuyvering pretty much everything in Gears 3).

Imagine scarabs and locusts digging deep down to fight the locusts!

Break down, every single one of you.

The Covenant. While the Locust are a threat to any species on a planet, they do not have space technology or the ability to glass entire worlds. Also, it seems Locusts are about as physically strong as humans. Elites are as strong as Spartan-IIs in Mjolnir while Brutes and Hunters are stronger.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

If Clayton Carmine (Arguably a regular-ish COG as he is just about as strong as Marcus/Dom/etc in my opinion) can do this to a drone then imagine what this guy would do to them

The Covenant and the Locust are no match at all, first of all by numbers, the Covenant are way larger in number, then technology, not to mentions the Locust are not strong as an Elite or a Brute.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the COG ain't just humans? My point here is, a Spartan genetically altered, (Super strenght, capable to think faster and capable to adapt to every situation, virtually unbreakable bones) plus MJOLNIR that doubles the strenght of it's host and with all that is able to match the strenght of a Elite Minor.

Another factor, the Covenant lacks the need to land on Earth, all the Covenant has to do is glass the planet.

Let's hypothetically say that the Locust have Forerunner structures or artifacts on their main colony/city/whatever, so we can rule Glassing out so it is fair.

Ok, still they lose, cause if both sides have Forerunner technology, the Elites, Brutes and Hunters are stronger than a Spartan. Spartans are way stronger than a average human and the COG are Average human and (to my knowledge) the Locust aren't that strong from the average human soldier.

Second still the numbers, the Locust are just like one world (if they were to rule Earth) the Covenant controls more than one world. (At least 7 planets or even more, not to mention High charity and who knows how many Dreadghnaughts)

Locust have superior numbers and with their locust Queen can reproduce more troops but Covenant still win with their fleets and glassing and teratons of energy and whatnot.

The Grubs do not have superior numbers. There are likely more Elites then there are Locusts in the entire series.

Having colonized more the one planet, the Covenant are less constrained by popoulation concerns (ignoring the Grunts). The Locusts are a one planet species; mathematically, especially since there are multiple Covenant races to the Locusts' only one, the Covenant have that much more of a population.

Edit: Damn it there goes my attention span. Accidently voted Locust.

Who was the other guy that did it?

They still have better cohesion and integration, meaning if it were on their terms they might have a chance (ground battle that is, of course Covenant are cowards and would resort to their orbital assets)

If they tried to enter the Hollow with nothing but ground assets, however, they would most likely lose.

Truthfully, people should remember scarabs.
Remember guys... scarabs
Or locusts are really good at digging so the
Locusts would have to face scarabs and
Locusts

Covies, though it depends, Grunts would most likely run, if not killed, most of the fighting would fall on the Jackels,Elites, brutes and hunters .Depending on how many locust it would take to kill one of the said units Would determine the outcome of the ground battle.

Well considering the covenant outnumber the Locusts over 1,000 to 1(The Covenant fighting population numbers in the tens of billions, while the Locust fighting population numbers most likely in the million-tens of millions range) and have orbital bombardment capabilities, I don't even see how you would debate this.

We should know better, because we are better.

Single planet force vs. Multi-system spacefaring force? Basic math says that it's a quick victory for the Covies.

  • 09.27.2011 9:17 PM PDT

Locust for sure! Anyone who says covies would win has no brain... trollface

  • 09.27.2011 9:45 PM PDT

This has been discussed so many times, covenant usually win every time. So for arguments sake I'm just gonna go with neither since this has been done too many times.

You don't know anything about the Covenant do you? They've been known to attack ground based targets just so they can say they did. They'd land, beat the humans to a pulp, then once they got bored, they'd glass the planet. Like in The Return.

Drones are about as strong as a Gear, which is as strong as a body-builder. The Covenant (Elites) are brilliant tacticians whilst being as athletic and strong as a Spartan. Needless to say, Elite>Drone.

Better technology, much more powerful weaponry (read the books, games don't do plasma justice at all) and more numbers and advantages.
