There won't be many "bolt-on" features like this added to the existing site design, but we're definitely thinking a lot about how we can build better systems for you guys in the future.

Keep the suggestions coming.

:)
O_O... a new hawtness is comingz?!?!?!

There's always a new hotness on the horizon. This one's a ways off.

I guess I'd rather a new game than a new hotness... Compromise = agreeable.

There's already a function to save your threads, it's meant to be used.

I use it to save all the threads I make, that way I can keep track of them and keep the nostalgia factor that comes out of them.

Plus bum bum bum, it's organized by forums! The only thing that makes the saved threads idea a problem is the bug with it.
Yet we circle back around to the same problem I've been talking about; I'm still going to have to check every single page for any replies from where I've last posted (and that's assuming I even do remember).

The Saved Threads page doesn't solve that problem. Heck, to even know if you've had any replies you still have to keep going back to the page anyway. It would be much more convenient if the site just told me I had a new post, new reply, new security role in a group, new group news, etc...

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

Dude I all for this. I am lazy and this would save me time.

Holy crap...normally Bungie only updates the hotness for new games or something major like the shift of Halo Franchise shifting hands. So when you see the new update then either before or after it, more clues about Destiny will be released...This is just guesswork and being observant on updates of the hotness. Please Lord Urk, bestow upon us a clue as to the closeness of my theory to the truth. Please Master Urk throw off your chains of secrecy just this once..."please sir can we have some more?" -Oliver Twist-

Well maybe we should have a better system of reporting, something similar to the likes and dislikes system of Youtube. No like or dislike button, but if you hover your mouse over the thread you can see how much reporting a thread has recieved and whether or not you should read it and respond? Maybe, yes, no?

You say tomato; I say potato.

I don't even like how the mobile app alerts me about PMs. I am uninterested in a notification system of any kind. If it was to be implemented, I would seek to disable it.

Not that I'm a fan of emails or text messages alerting me to new posts in threads I participated in, but is it possible for the forums here to use vBulletin (or it's successor, if applicable) or adapt it's "Show all new posts" function to show the new posts in threads I participated in?

  • 09.29.2011 7:57 PM PDT

Basically, I make the best topics ever.

Feedback!
Duardo: This thread is locked for being stupid.
cortana 5 : It's perpetually my time of the month and I'm just grouchy.
Foman: I see absolutely no reason, either theoretical or practical, that this is not a superb idea. Excellent work, my friend.

I don't understand how this is even an argument. It is a feature that makes everyone's life easier, it isn't really that hard to implement (from a purely coding perspective), so why the hell not? I mean seriously, why the HELL would you argue against this? It's irrational.

I disagree. Facebook Notiflications are enough for me.
Imagine Facebook without notifications. That's where Bungie.net is at right now. We have to manually check every post that we make if we want to find out whether it has had a reply. For example, once I have submitted this post I will continuously come back to this thread to see if it has been replied to while also checking every other thread that I have posted in today. A notification system on Bungie.net would save me from having to do this which would be extremely convenient.

This.

I normally post in alot of threads, and sometimes i come back an hour or so later, they are normally pushed to second page by then making them a pain to find. Then even remembering which ones i have posted in aswell, it would just be so so much more convenient to have that feature.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

How would it be more convenient to refresh your b.net page to see if you have a notification, rather than keeping them on a tab and refreshing them every now and then?

I think it's just lazy to have notifications for your thread being posted in.

Responses to your posts? I don't see the point in it, as I already keep up with it, or just don't care if anyone replies to me. I honestly can't see why anyone posts enough in a day to make this necessary in that manner. This could be convenient to people who spend a lot of their time on here, and post on fast forums, but other than that I don't see it being convenient, just lazy.

There's methods to do this, and the only person that this would help is the people who post a lot.
