Are mods supposed to still have mod powers around the group even after getting banned?

Yes, I believe so.

Blacklists don't affect security roles.

Makes sense, it should be up to the group administrator to decide if the person is still worthy of the role.

And what if the banned person was the only administrator/moderator of the group? If they lost their powers then the group would be between a rock and an equally hard rock.

Yes, I believe so.

You should just ban yourself and make sure and then report back. Or we can just go and ask Recon.

I mean, I'm banned from a group right now. I can still delete threads, blacklist people, and generally cause random havoc.

I can also still vote in polls, but that's unrelated to mod powers.

Why don't you just remove the ban from yourself? Unless your security role doesn't extend to include that ability...

Anyway, yes, as said, even when banned you can use moderation tools.

Recon Number 54 just banned himself in the flood a week or two ago. His text and color bar are still as salmon as ever.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

Ohh you mean if you're banned from the group, not from the public forums. That makes what I said sound stupid.

He had bypassed the profanity filter according to the immature complaints of another member and was getting multiple posts about it.

He had banned himself to make a point.
Fix'd.
