My God..two of the Bungoids liked Ice Pirates. Amazing..so that means, someone else on the planet DID see it!
And Forever War too. You guys got good taste. Aside from Ice Pirates and its automated castration machine..;)

Ender's Game series didn't make it? :(

It was mentioned.

As was the Ender's Shadow series. If you'd have read just part of the first page of this thread you would have known.

I meant in the MAIN list in the beginning of Frankies article. I thought it was a shame because it was so well represented by most of the staff. But thanks for pointing me out as opposed to about 5 other people who felt the same way...

Wow i'm suprised, they have alot of the same tastes as me, although i'm dissapointed that there are no Micheal Crichton fans in the Bungie staff.

Well done Bungie. I'd especially like to congratulate fans of Ian M Banks. Use of weapons is a novel of supreme goodness. I was surprised to see no Peter F Hamilton, who is one of Banks' friends. He writes super-long super-good space operas.

I would also like to point out the similarity of the ship names to Banks' naming system. But then this similarity has been well documented.

Im feeling a bit peckish. Could we stop for a bickie or a conker!

You there. Hey you there! I shake my stick at you......

Every time a church bell rings Mr T Pities a fool

This story appealed to my inner sci-fi geek. Lists are inherrently good in my view.

I agree about firefly, there should be a law to force the network to pay for the whole series.

no HR Giger nor any of the Alien series, shame, bungie, shame.

Read the article.

Shishka, Shishka

Movies-

Serenity

The Fifth Element

New Hope, Empire, Jedi

The Matrix (Just part one. Parts two and three can suck it)

Alien, Aliens

Twelve Monkeys

Critters (1, 2, and 3. 4 can go to hell!)

Akira

Blade Runner

Strange Days

That there is a top list (Except for critters but I can forgive. Replace with Gremlins?)

Anime and Animation are underrated as an art for the following are about there in my opinion as well

Iron Giant
Spirited Away
The Incredibles

All a joy to watch in their own right.

Also the original manga full run of Akira is an incredible read, full of twists and turns. If you havent already I'd suggest you give it a go.

Enders game rocked so hard. I thought about it when I read the Halo books (though not so much when I played the game). Seriously though... It was AWESOME!

I'm very disappointed in you guys. Only one mention of "Doctor Who" in that entire weekly update. Doctor Who is, by far, the best sci-fi series ever... especially the ones with Tom Baker. I grew up on Doctor Who.

I was surprised at only one person saying 2001: A Space Odessey, and no one saying Planet of The Apes (1968). They're both 4 star movies, and Sci-Fi classics. Also, I was happy that one guy mentioned Total Recall, because man that movie rocks (not for the women with the third bussom... wel not entirely...).

Whether the bungie crew knows that the term "Architect" is a phrase protected by law is beyond me. For all i know they'll all be arrested tomorrow for claiming that some are architects, hehe. I don't know what I'm talkin about; don't mind me.
That title should belong to z03wolfe... ;-(

I want to make a few things clear here

1) Star Gate can be a cool show at times; like when they're fighting aliens and evil empires and discovering new worlds. Unfortunately, the rest of the time we find the "crew" consuming an entire episode doing nothing but talking in a about alien fungus and their childhoood dreams. Boring! I like for a story to have an equal balance of story AND action! That's why HAlo is pretty much the only fps I like!

2) Did you guys read the article at all? Or did you get excited about a new chance to complain and tell Bungie they "suck"! They pretty much noted anything and everythng Sci-fi on that update. So stop whining about about "space Mimes" not being up there! Sheesh!

3) Realistic Sci-Fi is good but Sci-Fi is called science fiction for a reason. I know sound waves dont travel in space, but Star wars would be SO boring without the sound of lazers and the whine of tie fighters!

4)Oh, and remember...patience is a virtue! H3? who knows!?

Frank Herbert the man, possibly the best thing ever to happen to Si-Fi with books like: the Dune series, The Eyes Of Heisenberg (which everyone should read, short but awesome!), Man of Two Worlds, Destination: Void, etc... These books are so sweet!!!

I thought it was an awesome update, I like the pics too!
I some people like to dis the newer SW stuff, and I think episode two could've been better. But has anyone read the books that are out!? Some of 'em are great! I just finished the New Jedi Order series, and it's awesome!

Anyways, great update guys... and girl. ^_^ Keep it up!

I'm surprised "Aliens" wasn't on everyone's list. In my opinion, Aliens was the ultimate sci-fi movie. It had everything, directing, acting, sets. I've seen in 10 times and it isn't enough.

So many of that movie's elements can be found in Halo, and Srgt Johnson= Srgt Apone.

I would have liked to see more of Stanley Kubric's version of 2001. Seriously, you need to add more artsy stuff like that in "the next project." (Gee, I wonder what that is?).

Anybody hear about the making of an Ender's Game movie? It
is in the process right now. Orson Scott Card is, of course, helping out with the screenplay and such. ETA is 2008. I hope it's well done. Anyway, I thought all you Ender series fans out there should know. Fare thee well.

Tom Baker + Genesis of the Daleks = one of the greatest sci-fi stories EVER!

Of course, all of Dr. Who is great, especially with Tom Baker. The Key to Time is an amazing series!
