If the condition of the lock after you are done doesn't matter, bore it out. Find a high torque, low rpm drill, and a bit with a moly-carb tip that's the same diameter as the cylinder. Then, just drill it out.

not a joke, a tudent from MIT wrote a handbook on how to lockpick, (for educational purposes of course), i read it, first it teaches you how a lock works and how a key will open it, then it goes on by tellin techniques of pickin. my fave is scrubing......

If your really insitent on using paper clips, here's a tip.

Bend the first 1cm of one of them at a 45 degree angle.

....umm actually...if you discribe what the outside of the lock looks like, I could help more.
