Im wondering what the pouplation is on halo 2 vista. i'm going to get it if "I" Think it is enough people for me. im kind of expanding my game library on my pc, (which only includes halo CE and Roblox which sucks) i also don't mind "wasting" 10-20 bucks on it because i have a job after all.
anyways please don't flame the game (we don't want to make this like the reach forum) or me. i just want the answer to my question and maybe a few details.

I don't know what the population of Halo 2 Vista is currently. But in my opinion you should be less worried about the population and more worried about whether or not you can run the game smoothly.

In my experience, with a computer that well surpasses the requirements of H2V, I get severe fps stuttering that doesn't occur in newer games. I've tried forcing Vsync and Tripple Buffering at the same time but that doesn't completely erase the stuttering.

I'd be willing to guess that people here might know of certain graphics cards, processors, and computer models that run H2V well.

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

Hi Joey, I am not going to go into computer specs and things, because that is not my field. I just wanted to give you some information I can provide from a player that played Halo 2 Vista since launch.

I don't play H2V anymore, but here is what I can say. Halo 2 Vista nowadays is dead. The player population will never break 100 players at any given time. The "golden days" were 2007 and 2008 and are long gone.

I only recommend Halo 2 Vista to the gamer that is itching to get some Halo 2 Multiplayer in. That was what Halo 2 Vista was for me. I was a big H2 console kid on the Xbox until shutdown and H2V was my only outlet to get some more games in. With that being said, Halo 2 Vista favors the console gamer due to the fact that you can plug in a wired 360 controller and get all that aim assist power that the Mouse/Keyboard combination does not offer.

Halo 2 Vista only had 2 updates, both were is 2007. And even though it is clearly stated that MS still supports Halo 2 Vista, there has been no more updates which the game clearly needs.

Halo 2 Vista is not a PC game. It is a poorly, imported console game that pretended to be a PC game...but I had some good times on that game man for sure. But like I said, it just ain't the same nowadays.

CTF on Coagulation is the main game on Halo 2 Vista. An average player count is in anywhere between 30-70 gamers and that shoots up on the weekends a little bit. There are plenty of different servers, just not a lot of players. And of course, you can always host your own Custom Game.

Joey with these specs, not to sound rude or anything, the game won't even launch. You have 1GB Ram, see if you can get at least 2GB. Your processor is okay, for this game at least so that can be left for now. Your graphics card is integrated, most PC games require a Dedicated graphics card to even work, essentially you'd be out of luck for modern games. If you'd like and depending whether or not your motherboard allows it (i'm uncertain), i could suggest a good graphics card but you're looking at £100-200 if thats the case. Finally, i'd recommend getting at least a 500gb hard drive, you'll use 79gb very quickly.

Nonono, I suggest this card: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-deta ils.asp?EdpNo=6759736&pagenumber=9&RSort=1&csid=I TD&recordsPerPage=5&body=#ReviewStart

It will run Halo 2 Vista no problem.

Your laptop probably has a dedicated then. My laptops got poor specs and will launch the game and get a solid 30fps maxed out, but H2V WILL NOT launch with an integrated, like your PC. At least, im 90% certain.

Wow that's a good deal. Joey you should go for that if you intend to do light gaming.

It's prices like those that make me wish us Brits didn't get ripped off...a rig costing $600 would easily cost £850 over here...the joy.

Super more people are starting to play MLG ffa classics.

Monstrmoose is also hosting some classic gametype servers, like tower of power and zombies and stuff like that.

While it's true player count will never exceed 100 at any given time except holidays, try to get known in a community, and playing with your friends will be a lot more fun than playing alone.

  • 10.04.2011 9:41 PM PDT

I want to get it too, so we might meet agian.

  • 10.04.2011 10:05 PM PDT

I recommend going with the SmGclan servers. Unlike the Monstrmoose server moderators, they won't be -blam!-s to you when you kill them. (ie U CHEATER IM BANNING YOU).

Plus they (to the best of my knowledge) don't require you to install a program so they can 'detect' cheating.

Expect to see a lot of coagulation. I know this last summer SmG was running a server that went between Lockout, Backwash, and Foundation with sniper starts and a CTF gametype. Sounds like it would be boring, but it was rather fun.

It'll probably be easier if you're not certain on PC's or willing to spend the money. Should you change your mind, i'm sure there'll be plenty of people willing to help you.

I have the solution. Go google 'game booster' it is free and wont harm your pc, it makes games run faster by optimizing the RAM/CPU.

Guide to immortality : Sleep with Life

I had a pretty big time thread once.

Here's me bragging about it.

Bout 50 everyday. On a weekend you might hit 100.

I've found recent weekends to be getting waaaay more than they have since march. Last weekend was around 125-150, and most of the games were MLG.

Recently there has been more mlg/standard type games, and a drop in coag ctf/cloud's ctf gametypes.

Actually, I think it started before I started playing H2V, because when I started I didn't see many of the games that Dusk 's always talking about. At first. Ugh. Shotty snipers.
