Subject: Settiling bans with a duel?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Normally people try to remove a ban with long winded essays of how what they did was justifiable or some people send an angrly written letter out of rage.

But, is a duel to remove a ban possible?

I mean if the moderator was up for it, you could have a 1v1 or a 2v2 (the banned, a friend vs 2 mods) on like Halo 3 guardian, 10 kills to win or something.

If you got a ban, would you try challegining it with your Halo skillz or will you wait it out?

No, this is not enough.

Bans should be settled by pistols at 20 paces. IRL.

I want her...

They usually duel with words(appeal) if you succeed in beating them then the ban is removed

The top 2 mods who are the best at dueling with words are Foman and Achronos.

But, I thought a duel in Halo would be interesting.

If this is the state of my art, then I secede.

Surely, you can't be serious.

I think that is a horrible idea if everyone who got banned and decided to duel, the mods would spend the majority of their time on xbox.

You can't "force" a mod to vs you.

I just thought if the mod was like, okay.

I think this would be a "fun" way to resolve bans with the mods sometimes. :p

Just call me Whitcher

Onion Invasion was on the spot randomness that I entered when I first got xbox live. I have changed my GT once.

If I go of topic, It's known as Whitchering

Realistically, this could be abused. What if the player was amazing at halo? He'd be unbannable.

  • 09.30.2011 8:53 AM PDT

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Bans should be settled with a game of Yahtzee.

Well, the moderator could always say no.

You can't force someone to play a game they don't want to play.

Ban's that need to be resolved?

Usually it is the ban that is resolving a problem not the ban being the problem.

This idea serves no purpose if someone was 'wrongfully' banned then playing Halo isn't going to do a good job at solving the issue. It's like someone going to jail and challenging the warden to a game of chess, the chess game is not going to do anything or prove that you were not guilty. It is also going to be unfair.

I'm sure the moderators have more important things to do.
And like what irishfreak said, you have to duel them with words.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

What would be the point in bans then? Have you played with some of the mods? They're worse then The Community average, in my opinion - exemption is Tom's Magnetic Sniper.

It wouldn't teach a lesson and the majority of people would likely get the appeal.

No they don't. Most people couldn't care less.

Wow Sken. Just wow.

Bans aren't supposed to be a happy and casual event that can be undone by something as simple as a match of Halo. Why would anybody take them seriously if you turn them into a game?

Never curse a failure. Learn from your mistakes so that if you are lucky enough to get a second chance, you can avoid repeating the same mistakes. And have a greater outcome.

I've always thought a mortal combat style showdown would do the trick.
