Wouldnt be cool if bungie had a friends list on the site and a chat bar so u wouldnt have to constantly go on your message or group page to send someone a message or look at there stats.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

WAT, I thought the point of forums was to connect people together.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

No, forums are for discussing and making topics.

If they added the friends list, the site would be used to connect people, and the forums would still be used for discussing and making topics.

I still don't see how connecting and interacting with people of similar interests and expanding my Bungie.net experience is a bad thing.

And...?

This is the same fallacy behind Godwin's Law, isn't it? Social networking sites using these features is not relevant to their use here.

Honestly if anything is added and people don't like it, they'll get over it, however, we do have a say in what we like and don't like. I for one am against adding stupid social features like chat and friends list, however, if they're useful and add to my experience I wouldn't mind.

I don't see why people think b.net would need a friends list, if you think about it, who is really your friend here, and why would you need to see if they're online? If you want to send them a PM, send it, it's not like the PM will disappear.

A chat feature? The main problem I see with that is:
Who will moderate it, it will be moving so fast that moderators could not keep up with it and reports on the forums at the same time. Also, it would move so fast that people could post shock links, have people click them, and get away with it because their post will be gone in seconds.
Maybe chat would be good as a group feature, but as a site feature? I don't think so.

I mean like why should we make this site like facebook and myspace. I think we should keep it how it is.

How would adding a friends list do that? Most forum sites have them, they're not the sign of evil.

What if it was? Up until now I would have explicitly agreed with you, no argument, but isn't that what the community has been asking for?

Think about it. People have asked for social networking-like features on Bungie.net. The response to their desires was basically "but we aren't a social networking site."

What if Bungie.net evolves into one...

Eh? ;) Eh!? ;)

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

Yeah cause I want to #op a bungie.net chat on top of moderating the boards.

I don't care either way about a friends list. Though, I'd rather have a lot of other things added or fixed prior to getting a friends list. This probably is, and certainly should be, low on the list of priorities.

I also maintain that Chrome is weaksauce, and IE9 is fast and works very well

I want to know what is going to happen to the site when Tiger/Destiny is released. We're not just going to have an Xbox LIVE Friends List any more. Bungie might already be thinking of new ways to display friends on Bungie.net... a lot is going to change in the future.

Ah, the internet. Where men are men, women are men, and children are the FBI.

no, it needs -blam!-s.

Edit: that blam was supposed to be women batting for the other team.

I've seen the post it would go from asking for friends list to asking for a like button then asking for more facebook kind of things. I personally just don't like the friends list idea.
