Subject: Halo 2 for Mac? Not Exactly...

Does that mean that our Windows Vista version of Halo 2 will eventually be played on Macintosh? Not exactly. But we'll keep an eye on that project for sure. Bungie still has a lot of Mac guys.

Bungie should license another company to re-make Halo2 for xbox 360. Why not?

Microsoft owns Bungie, Bungie hires outside company to re-make Halo2 for Microsoft product. Can't the same be done for xbox 360?

It's just a game folks.

Time and effort would be saved to purchase a Mac that can boot both operating systems which would allow you to run PC games on windows and have the stability of OSX. Windows Vista Aero platform is an OSX knockoff anyways. Everyone who uses computers for things OTHER than games knows that the OSX platform is more stable and user friendly than Windows. However, gamers want their games and so here we are.

Because people aren't going to spend $50 on a game they already own to play it on a console they can already play it on.

No, charging less wouldn't help.

No, you haven't thought the idea through.

1. Go to the Microsoft Vista site and they have public beta versions of it out.

2. If you don't like Macs, don't comment about them. Leave the Mac-ies be.

ooh, i thought it was still a very private beta for the microsoft product experience team (or whatever they're calling themselves these days, it's really just a bunch of microsoft-afilliated people who get betas and that free). Any chance of a link because i can't find it.

If Halo 2 was made for XP, and Mac distributed working video drivers through their Boot Camp service, there should be no problem running Halo 2 on a Mac. I think the situation is whether Boot Camp will support Vista, the only platform in which Halo 2 will work. Apple possesses the files to make XP think it's running on a BIOS rather than the EFI protocol, and they possess the drivers that enable XP to recognize the Apple products. Vista probably requires different files in order for it to operate on Apple formats. Therefore, it's Apple's decision. If Apple wants to create boot files for Microsoft's Vista and they distribute working video drivers for their high end video cards, I see no reason why Halo 2 should not work on Vista. The only problem I forsee is the possibility of DRM.
