I was thinking, Seem's a little weird now that the covenant and the flood are eliminated.

An Ancient Evil seems a little forsaken to seeing that every sentient being was wiped out during the first activation of the halo rings. The Gods of the Forerunners were Precursors and they're also extinct. I wonder what ancient evil it is. .-.

I am Field Master Avu Med 'Telcam, Servant of the Abiding Truth, and I have many brothers.

A god who creates tools is still a god. It is not for us to impose qualifications upon the divine or presume to guess its intentions.

My thoughts...

It's going to follow the same pattern any other scifi/fantasy story arc that has survived this long does.

It will be some brand new enemy nobody has ever heard of nor has been mentioned before but will be somehow tied to previously existing back-story and plot points, and then will be revealed to be the REAL problem all along.

The market is very predictable, and so are the people behind it.

However, they do have some skilled writers working on this new story. So, maybe, just maybe, there will be a little more to this one. Probably not. But maybe. A couple unexpected twists, perhaps?

i agree.

also, i wouldnt think that the forerunners or precursers are exotic or varietal enough to be that good of an enemy, like the covenant were. i'd like to see an all new enemy.

The Primordial leading an army of True Flood (the definition of variety in the Haloverse). Problem solved.

Hello, Im Embuilarr. Forge world maniac.

I see, But once again how could the enemy have survived the only way it could have survived is if the enemy was non-sentient like the flood which could be possible. Gravemind said something at the end of Halo 2 "I will ask, and you will answer." ((Is this right?)) Which could mean that Gravemind could have been asking an old ally.

But the flood seemed like a more ancient evil than what can be provided by the new 'Ancient Evil'.

Variety as in many different species (ie. jackal, elite, brute, grunt, drone, hunter,[prophet], etc.)

Hello, Im Embuilarr. Forge world maniac.

It needs to have a depth in the story, Something that would normally be unimaginable. The Halo Wars were the:

Forerunner-Flood

Human-Covenant

Human-Flood & Covenant-Flood

117-???

Precursors were 'Gods' by the Forerunner religion. Seeing that would make Precursor more non-violent, Right?

unless the precursers have variety, i dont like em. master chief goes to some place far far away for all we know. it could be something not related to anything in the halo universe at all. something light years away from that section of the universe that all the stories talk about. they could be little green men with big eyes. point said...
