its like a large force of win going through fusion, thus creating a chain reaction of a huge asplosion of win destroying any fail within its awesomeness.
The Forums are ill-behaved...things like blacklistings, spam, can and will degrade your experience on the Fourms.
What I Did:
I interviewed a handful of moderaters...in order to seek their opinion. Why? To pass it on to you...so you, the reader...will know what not (and what) to do.
Interview Questions

What is your position on the condition of the forums? (Ex: Is it still too spammy or is it just fine)
I believe the Underground is in a state of stupidity. Obviously, it is one of my favourite forums because it is where older games are discussed, but the repetition and wrong-forum-posting-ness of it all is horrible.
Zanzibar is a little off right now. I go there and I see a lot of "Look at this noob get pwnt" threads, which are really quite pointless as it only serves to degrade one person and congratulate someone else.
What does it take for a thread to be considered spam, in your view?
* If it has no real purpose that adheers to the forum it was posted in.
* If it repeats itself over and over.
* If it is filled with derogatory terms.
* Etcetera.
What does it take for a thread to get locked?
* Bumping.
* Spamming.
* Lack of justification.
* A really stupid idea.
* A repeated thread.
* Wrong forum.
* Bad attitude.
* Posting false information.
* You know. All that jazz.
What does it take for someone to get temporary blacklisted, in your view?
* Being a real ass.
* Insulting other members.
* Posting spam (depending on the severity of said spam).
* Inciting flame wars.
What does it take for someone to get permanently blacklisted, in your view?
Ooh, this is a long list.
* Racist remarks (or other prejudiced remarks, choose your gender/-blam!- preference).
* Pr0n links.
* Calling a moderator something bad.
* Flaming over PMs.
* Not getting the point.
* ... You know, just look at the rules, I can't even remember all of them on the spot.
If someone does get blacklisted (Temp and Perma), what will it take them to convince you to drop the ban?
Nothing.
Is the Bungie community mature?
Some are. Most aren't.
If you may, can you list 5-10 things each member should do to be the best member they can be?
* Report spam.
* Give me chocolate.
* Be polite.
* Post in the right forum.
* Don't follow trends (i.e. Chain Threads)
* Give me chocolate.
* Have good ideas.
* Give me chocolate.

What is your postition on the condition of the forums? (Ex: Is it still to spammy or is it just fine)
It's a little rough around the edges, but the core stays true.
What does it take for a thread to be considered spam, in your view?
Having no point. Or being some sort of threaded advertisement. Or having a slightly pork flavor.
What does it take for a thread to get locked?
Being Spam, being turned into a flamewar, being political or religious, being about individual users other than the poster are a big no no. Hateful threads.
What does it take for someone to get temporary blacklisted, in your view?
Minor infractions of the rules, repeatedly spamming flaming etc.
What does it take for someone to get permanently blacklisted, in your view?
A Major infraction, like pr0n links and similar crap. Making threats. Racism.
If someone does get blacklisted (Temp and Perma), what will it take them to convince you to drop the ban?
They won't. I have been known to hit the button by accident, but I always know when and usually the person is unbanned before they ever knew they were banned. If I banned them for a rule infraction then it's tough luck.
Is the Bungie community mature?
The Bungie community is like every other community in the world. It has mature members, average members, and immature members.
If you may, can you list 5-10 things each member should do to be the best member they can be?
1. Always try to be polite, just because it's the internet doesn't mean you should act like a jerk.
2. Please make sure you're posting in the right forum.
3. PLEASE check the topics in the forum before you make a new thread.
4. Post only allowed subjects.
If you follow those, you don't need any more.

What is your postition on the condition of the forums? (Ex: Is it still to spammy or is it just fine)
I feel that it's troublesome and in need of much attention. I think of the community as a whining 5 year old that shows affection only when you give it something that it wants.
What does it take for a thread to be considered spam, in your view?
Being pointless.
What does it take for a thread to get locked?
Of course, breaking the rules.
What does it take for someone to get temporary blacklisted, in your view?
Breaking the rules.
What does it take for someone to get permanently blacklisted, in your view?
Taking the rules and slapping them.
If someone does get blacklisted (Temp and Perma), what will it take them to convince you to drop the ban?
Temps don't get off the hook, while perma - they would have to show much improvement. But usually, nothing.
Is the Bungie community mature?
Sadly, no.
If you may, can you list 5-10 things each member should do to be the best member they can be?
* Follow the Rules.
* Help each other.
* Think before speaking.
* Give advice.
* Take a shower.
