the following are thing i dont get
how would the robts be shieled from radation and emece heat and the suns flaresand the same for the giant battery
next, how would people get there past the radation field and solar flares without getting radation sickness or being burned to death
also some people dont beleve nasa went to the moon because of these thing like to get into the halo they would have to were 6 feet of led shielding and the ship would need 6 feeet of led shielding also
and you would need to make the ships and the space suits and you need to desughn the suits and the ships
then find a way to heat the moon rocks and put them into place and get all those rocks from the moon without breaking the gravatatoinal pull and destroying the moon and not getting the robotts [and the robotts need 6 feet of shielding also] destroyed by solar flares
and makeing programing chips for the robotts
then you need to make the cosino , resort hotel [ making swiming pools that the water can stay in the pool and move when people get in ] ,houses andallthe other thing you said
then making all the glass and you still need lots of metal and led for Halo
then you need to transport the food ,beds, water , blanckets , pillows ,plants , tvs , X boxs , batterys , halo1/2s , map packs , long distance cable , computers , xbox live coneters , fernacher , phones , lights , dvd players , carpet , books , cd players , xbox games , and alot more things to the Halo
and this list could go on along time so please anser and im in on the helping buid it if i get 5 million dollars and a monkey robot after we biuld it or just one of the two things

If Bungie knew about this they would be so proud that a monument was constructed out of moon rocks and other materials from across the solar system by intergalactic space robots that orbited the Earth just becuase of an Xbox game.

OH MY GOD, they are probly more embarrassed that some specky eyed nerd has taken their game WAY too seriously , i mean jesus christ how ******* retarded can u get. try and work for something that is important and make maybe your PARENTS proud not, but not bungie about making a god damned halo out of ******* moon rock.

Well now the idea of our own Halo is brilliant! For all you left winged nutsacks out there at least be open minded to these guys' ideas. You tell them to go make their parents proud or cure cancer well what they propose to do if possible is really good for all of us. The Earth cannot support 6 billion+ people. And more are coming on the way every day, hell every half hour!

My only argument to the Halo, and don't you dare -blam!- at me if I'm repeating cause dammit its late and I didn't want to sort through 10 pages of comments so I only read the first page and I don't even remember all of that! But what sticks out at first is yes you would have to build it fairly far away from Earth so it wont crash into us. Second -blam!- with the moon, not too good of an idea I think because gee why we did we never nuke the -blam!- out of it in the past, oh yeah maybe its important. So instead maybe your robots (cool idea) could go deep underground the planets surface and get the metal required. And third to discuss the literal science-ness of it all the big numbers if ya catch my drift, got to wikipedia and type in "ring world" that should get you what you need to hear. And for those of you who say god this is never gonna happen. Thats what all people who invent great things hears, you won't stop them by saying that you'll just spur them on. Well I'm done blabbing if anyone else wants to talk about it with me, message my profile here or better yet talk to me on homepage at Red vs Blue, my name is gruntfan there.

Cancer is curable. The lightbulb was workable. The Halo IS buildable. Just not now, or any time for several thousand years at least. So, in effect, it's impossible for us to do. KTHXBYE.

Cancer is not always curable. A lot of the time it isn't. And for digging into the earth, even our most advanced machines can't go below, I think 30 miles. You people are crazy, and you are all innoring the dozens of problems I wrote down a 2 or 3 pages ago. If you can answer those, I'm sure you would get many more supporters.

Look for the back

ill get the hookers....WHAT? ohh... were building a halo. In that case, only the fienest from hooters!

btw guys, glass melts from heat. there is a vaccum in space. heat comes from the sun and will melt the glass.

Look for the back

this idea can theoriticly work but its impossible for 1 reason. MAN! There will never be peace so we can actually get to work on the thing! Even if peace does happen, their will be disaggrements on parts of the project, and eventually someones gona hurt someone

Why can't we make a bunch of solid gold rings 6" across and sell them for $500 bucks apeice instead of attempting to build a massive ring world featured in a video game?

If you want to live in space, go to the International Space Station.

Here's an idea. Go steal a nuke from the U.S. military system and launch it at the moon so it hollows out the rest and makes it in a ring shape? God damn kid you play this video game too much? What are you 7, 6 years old? Stop dreaming, get a life, and do something good with your time. Although those renderings or whatever were pretty damn sweet. I say that you work for Bungie and start working on their next project to make it so that it doesn't suck ass like Halo 2 but isn't that same as Halo:CE because that would be repetitive and boring.

  • 05.07.2006 5:41 PM PDT

Halo two doesn't suck.

Sadly you need gravitiy in order for there to be an atmosphere. Hollow halo, would have no gravity.

  • 05.15.2006 12:28 AM PDT

and here i thought this thread had died a death.
Please can we put it out of its misery now?

  • 05.15.2006 2:26 AM PDT

It would have if you wouldn't have posted. And because of you I posted to post about your post, so I end up with the blame.
Thanks...

ok in a way, your crazy, in a way your funny, in a way you a genuise, but you have NO IDEA how much this will cost you and how much work must be done. Think of all a work and money that had to be done to sent a single robot on mars to get some pictures? MILLIONS, and you wanna just *build* robots that will magicly go and collect rocks off moon and build a halo arround earth? You better have the best credit history a human being can have. That idea is however insanely awsome and stupid. I have to agree you got 1 out of 1000000 chances to become close to sent robots to start minning but Im only saying that to see how far you can go.

george bush would find someway to c-block this idea and then claim it for his own to pwn other solar systems as an act to salvage other solar systems from intergalactic terrorism.

i am in.
