1) manufacture a giant cheerio for the job. or maybe a wheato as the extra chocofactor will prevent sogginess.
2) nick on of saturns' ring. greedy SOB has too many.
3) hollow out the moon.. duuuuuuuh

btw i know this great place, filled with people like you. i used to spend every day there before i escaped

I can't believe Boreal had the guts to humiliate himself so much. Maybe the whiskey was stronger than he thought.

Yeah. You'd think he'd edit his post and just say he was kidding, or whatever. Oh well, though. I don't mean to be offensive anymore. That type of post just caught me off guard.

Are some of these people even serious in believing it will be possible or even feasible? Let's somehow get rocks from the moon, let's somehow build a ring with them, and let's somehow create an atmosphere. Not to mention "let's just build robots that mine rocks on the moon" and program them. If Congress won't give NASA a decent budget, then do you expect them to give us one?

It is theoretically possible to terraform (make it habitable for humans) a planet, but it would take thousands of years unless we found a way to do it faster, there are many variables and unknowns to consider.

How about this. I build a Slipspace drive in my back yard. Or better yet, I find a way to get Nuclear Fusion to breakeven.

Contrary to belief there is something more satisfying than sniping someone out of the air as they Man Cannon across a map.

A single Headshot No-Scope on someone as YOUR Man Cannoning across the map is sweeter. Especially if your riding shotgun on a Mongoose at the time.

Screw it. I vote cheese. That'll get an atmosphere... and it'd be a handy, world-sized snack. Plus, with all the plasma weapons we could have a toasted cheese! Plan made! Now just to find a sun sized cow.... Iowa, you think?

Well as for oxgen, which all living things need there will be problem. But I know the perfect way to create an atmosphere. Ok, we get alot of deodorent spay cans with pressurized air from earth. Everybody there get like two cans each and just start spraying. The gravity of the ringworld will gradually even it out. But the ring has to have reasonably strong gravity.

Okay Okay, i know what your saying, that sounds crazy, but if we put our minds to it, we can do it. I am 100% serious and I know this can be achieved. Heres how it ill work: Everyone who wants to volunteer will say so here. When we are ready, we will build a bunch of remote controlled rocket powered robots who will fly to the moon and mine rocks. The rocks will be flown into orbit around the Earth where they will be smelted and assembled into a ring shape approximatly 40 miles in diameter. This is feesible.
The ring will itnitially be hollowed out and people will live in it while the colonists use plants to develop an atmosphere. It will be the perfect utopia and garden of eden. We will make lots of money by charging people to live on it. There will be vacation resorts, casinos, oceans, etc. Best of all, if there ever is a nuclear war or cotastrophe, humans can retreat to the ring.
Here is the science: The ring will be forty miles in diameter and two miles wide, one thousand feet thick. We will program robots to build the ring in space for us (or we can remote control the machines). Suprisingly, the only problem with my plan is how will the Robots be powered? They will be solar powered. Instead of having solar panels on each robot, there will be a gigantic solar panel stationed near the site. When the mining/building robots are low on feul, they will return to the station and charge themselves from a gigantic battery.
We will go down in history, so if you don't volunteer you may regret this for the rest of your life. Join up now, for project ringworld!

P.S> i am making 3D renderings of the robots and Halo and space station in 3ds max, i will post them here when done. We also need a person capable of making a website for our project!

I've seen people create real armor suits and weapons based on their best observations of the game, but I wonder if Bungie would supply their best plans or 3-view of a Warthog to an aspiring fan to help create a functioning, full size warthog? Just a thought. It could be done with the right frame (maybe a Toyota Tacoma with its 4-wheel steering) and some fabrication. Maybe?

You'll have to teach your dog calculus before I even consider signing up for this absurdity... I guess Bungie really did capture some of their fans' hearts, though...
