"Halo, it's divine wind will rush through the stars, propelling all who are worthy along the path of salvation!"

The music was so...
majestic.

I'll be on my own side.

No. The CEA music is re-recorded versions of Marty's music though.

So no to Halo 4, too?

Yeah. He's not doing the music for Halo 4.

Bungie.Match.com: Our Johnson knows what the ladies like.

He will not make it for Halo 4.

Why would he record it for Halo: CEA? It's just Halo CE with some extras and some better graphics. The audio is still there.

That's disappointing to hear that Marty won't be doing it, he's damn good. Although sounds like the perfect opportunity for John Williams to be hired as the composer, won't happen, but a man can dream though, a man can dream.

Go kill yourself for giving false information.

Just checked and he is listed as "Audio Director" so I guess that means he works for Bungie exclusively.

Yeah, I think he became an actual employee around the time Halo CE was released.

Come on guys, its not as if anybody outside of Marty can do a great Halo soundtrack. Halo Wars (especially Spirit of Fire Theme) proves that, and the H4 Concept Art Trailer does so too.

Matter of fact: its not even as if anything but the typical classic Halo sound isn't good enough. Remember ODST? Awesome soundtrack. Yes: made by Marty, but far from the classic style he used on the main trilogy. And still it sounded epic.
And thats what you should expect for H4 too: new music with hints of the music we love.

Besides: the dude who makes the H4 soundtrack is no rookie. He's done work on MGS4 for example...Have a little faith people ;) Yes, Marty is awesome, but he is not irreplacable.

Halo reach alone on legendary! Message me to play halo wars, too. im the only person here who likes halo wars.

I'd be OK is another guy came in and compsed the halo audio based off Mart'ys.

Cept, id much rather see a new style for halo, mabie with wind instrument instead of orchestra. Imagine brass on the halo main theme....

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Nope. Marty will only do Bungie related projects, and since Halo 4 and Halo CEA arent Bungie projects, he wont be doing anything for them.

But from what we have seen, Halo music from other composers can be good. Just look at Stephen Rippy in Halo Wars. Brilliant music.

This guy's right. There are lots of other awesome composers out there. Also, the Halo Wars did have a good soundtrack.

"The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit,
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it."
-Omar Khayyám-

As everyone else already stated, Marty will not be doing the soundtrack for any other game except Destiny. I am also a fan of Stephen's so I hope he brings out some good tracks as we control the Chief into new worlds in Halo 4 and beyond.

If MW2 can get Hans Zimmer, Halo can get John Williams.

  • 10.02.2011 3:39 PM PDT

I blame myself, not Stosh.

That's sad to hear that Marty won't do Halo 4. Good luck to whoever has to take his place.

  • 10.02.2011 7:15 PM PDT

Awsomeness in a BOX!!!

That is very sad
