I was banned for 3-4 days and received this message:

"You have been banned from the public forums by Disembodied Soul. The ban message is reproduced below for your reference.

Ban Expiration Date: 10.01.2011 7:47 PM Pacific Time

An account owned by you has previously been blacklisted, using a different account to avoid the blacklist is not permitted."

The thing is, I only have one account. I have a brother (Fred 3764) who is blacklisted but that's still not my account. And I should not have been banned for my brothers actions. So here's my question, why was I banned?

NO GROUP INVITES

Im going to make an assumption and say you are on the same home network. The Soul cant distinguish whether its your brother, or simply another alternate account youve made, so the ban is automatic, for the sake of safety.

All in all, it was only 3 days. Could of been a lot worse.

Have you seen my mind anywhere? I seem to have lost it...

0x0 x0x 0x0 000 000 x0x 000
x0x 0x0 0x0 0xx 000 0x0 000
x0x x0x x00 0xx 0x0 x0x 0x0

I have seen you future

Do you use the same computer? If so the system thought you were your brother posting on an alternate account.

If you don't use the same computer you probably still tripped the system.

Very true. I was thinking that, but I just want to be sure that it doesn't happen again because of my brother.

And yes we use the same computer.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

Obviously, when two different accounts log in from the same computer, the system can't tell whether you "and your brother" are the same person trying to pretend to be two, or whether you are actually two different people.

In the future, tell "your brother" to let you know when he gets banned from Bungie.net, and don't log in while he is still banned.

Okay, but I'm not sure when his ban ends but i'll tell him. And can being banned here result in a ban in halo?

Nope.

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

Using the same computer would cause that problem. You should try to save up your money, or use another computer than your brother so you don't face that problem.

Okay I was worried. I don't want anything here to affect my precious halo.

Prior to 343 gaining control of Halo, maybe sending death threats to Bungie employees through this site would of warranted a ban (as well as a call to the police), but who wants to find out.
