Subject: A BIG signing-in problem I have with this site

I swear to DRUNK, I'm not GOD!

Much more often than I can count over the years, I've been constantly redirected to this web page when I try to sign in sometimes. And then, once I see that web page, EVERY link on this website will re-direct me back to that same page, even if I click the back button. So if I want to access the website, I first have to close any windows or tabs that are accessing parts of bungie.net, and then re-start my web browser. THEN I can log in like normal.

I think the problem stems from Microsoft's e-mail system. The bungie.net account is linked to my father's hotmail account (long story), so whenever I log in to MY hotmail account and later go to bungie.net to log in, it redirects me to this web page.

To make matters worse, the college I'm now attending has an e-mail that uses Microsoft Outlook, which I log in to much like my hotmail account. It's an important account, so I'm usually loged in there, or I may have some time in my recent browser history. And then wehn I come to Bungie.net, I get, once again re-directed to this web page.

Does anybody know of a way around this? I've been putting up with this problem for many years now.

NOTE: the links in question have the URL: http://www.bungie.net/Account/passportConsentForm.aspx, which re-directs you here to an error screen. Essentially, the website treats me like I'm a new user who wants to make a new account, and I can't back out of it.

That is, if you haven't already.

But otherwise, I can't help you.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

All those links give me errors too.

Interesting.

If I am correct with hotmail a lot of time you have to sign in and out from hotmail.com. Because when you sign out of hotmail.com it usually sings you out from bungie.net also. (at least for me)

So how do you get around this problem?

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

Bungie.net will use whatever WLID login you're currently signed in as. What you're seeing is "by-design" (by Microsoft) behavior - you come to the site signed into another WLID, and bungie.net tries to log-in with that, sees it is a new account, and starts account creation.

I have been investigating ways to make bungie.net not automatically share WLID state, but all that would do is make it so when you hit "sign-in" it would auto log you into the current WLID, which isn't what you want. For now, you're kind of stuck.

As for those who can't log out - clear your cookies, close your web browser, and when you next sign in, don't click "save my password".

Signing in, it will loop that link infinitely if you were on Xbox.com beforehand, you need to sign out before you leave Xbox.com or Bungie.net or it will do that. I've only noticed the problem with those two sites though, Bing seems to work properly.

Thank you so very much for some official clarity on this issue at long last!

I guess I'm just stuck with the way things are then. I will simply use a separate web browser for my B.net contributions.
