"A lesson without pain is meaningless, for you cannot gain something without sacrificing something else in return, but once you have overcome it and made it your own...you will gain an irreplaceable, fullmetal heart."

I haven't been on the Forums for awhile but I wanted to know what happened to Buck, Dare, the Rookie, etc, after the Story of ODST. Thanks in advance :)

Generalizations.
Helping idiots hate other idiots since people have existed.

Simply put, no one really knows.

We DO know they end back up in UNSC hands, because in the Legendary ending, we see them aboard Orbital talking with Sergeant Johnson.

The Tech Game

1,000,000+ Members, and still going strong!

They Turned into Elites.

I would guess that they would of had a quick medical and then been shipped straight back onto a ship, only to be dropped into another hot zone.

Unless Dare takes requests that ONI makes them her own personal strike team.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

They went to Narnia...

Then got sucked into the Twilight Zone...

Then joined the Dark Side and...

had cookies.

I am the best thing that ever happened to you

They all died. It's really a sad story actually, first they had to kill Romeo because he was being a douche, then Mickey caught the avian bird flue went insane and butchered Dutch and then Buck and the Rookie died in a Mexican standoff with Chester Cheeto.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

They return to the UNSC and other than that, we have absolutely no idea.

We don't really know. I'm very much hoping ODST gets a sequel or at the very least a tie-in novel/other media form to carry on their story.

Their characters could do with fleshing out a little more, but they were pretty great. Much better than the crap we got in Reach.

Yes, I AM just that awesome.

They go back into UNSC hands. That's really all we know.

OH, and they make friends with a monkey.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Betting they were re-deployed to other parts of Earth, sans Romeo for obvious reasons.

Hey, now!

This is officially either the greatest or worst thing to ever happen to Star Wars. I'm going with the former.

I have a feeling we might see them, or perhaps a mention of them in Glasslands.

Though, Traviss said she didn't really really research the Halo Universe in depth before she started writing it...

Half Man.
Half Horse.
Half Machine.
All "Jerk Who's Really Bad at Math."

PS
No, I do not want to join your clan/group.

While I enjoyed Traviss' work on the Republic Commando novels and have been looking forward to Glasslands, this news kind of troubles me.

But as for the ODST squad, I'm hopeful 343i won't forget about them and will give them another game. An appearance in the new trilogy with Chief would be okay, but I'd much rather see the ODSTs get their own game.

I'm insane and I know it. That's what I like about myself.

ROFL XD That's golden.

Signatures are for squares.

Frankie already confirmed that we WILL see more of the ODST squad.

I can't remember where he confirmed this, I believe it was during Halo Fest. The same time he confirmed this, was when he confirmed we'd eventually find out what happened to the Spirit of Fire, and they had no plans to explain what ever happened to Jun.
