Yes but it is a right a** and you can't help but feel that you shouldn't have to take extreme lengths to avoid a cheap death.

Placing my claymore the right way or properly aiming aren't "extreme lengths".

If you're planting the claymore, unless you hang around it the whole match it isn't going to help you very much.

Just dumb, it's taking a huge step backwards

Bungie shouldnt have took a huge step forward then? Bungie didnt have a clue what to do on reach for multiplayer and thats what ruined they shouldnt think of new ideas from halo 3 it was at its best already

Now that's a debate for another thread.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

One Man Army/Scavenger = unlimited claymores.

So what if I have a low K/D? I enjoy the game more than you do.

Wasn't it already that?

Sometimes, but not always. If you throw a nade or shoot at a rushing enemy to drop most of an enemy's shields you can kill them with one melee while it would take them two hits to kill you. In this scenario you can win even if you hit second.

This is the CQC I enjoy, quick planning, tricking or trapping enemies, and then a hard finish usually delivered by a melee.

That's what Reach is like for me. In the end I guess it just comes down to preference.

I guess that what most things come down too :D But i really miss the days in Halo 3 were I could turn tail and run in CQC and my enemy was left with two choices; chase me and die in an obvious trap or let me go and lose the kill. The Reach melee system kinda killed that.

Or shoot you.

In pre planning an engagement like that you have to make sure there is a corner to run around near by. Otherwise you have to adjust your strategy for a normal engagement.

Oh, right that's not extreme, you're just basing a good chunk of your class around it. Goodbye

Around claymores? Yes. But I don't just use claymores to deter the threat of a knife. Besides, you strayed from your original argument.

What you are attempting to argue is that if I die in a quick and "confusing" way then it is the fault of the developers and not the player.

So, if someone gets shot twice, beat down, and they die, this is the fault of the developers and not the player for putting themselves in such a situation?

R.I.P. Halo 2 <33333333
Do not play halo much anymore. Barely ever come on here.

Not a fan of Zero Bloom, but other then that the bloom tweaks are pretty legit. Now just have to wait till it is implemented into the MLG playlist :)

PSR = (((K+A)/D)*Win%)*120
The average player's PSR = 100

I'm just saying it's rather cheap, and when people figure out how to combine it with Sprint and evade it's going to be a freaking nightmare. At least in 3 you were limited by your speed.

It's worse than default Reach or even Halo 3.

But you see, this adds depth to the armor abilities. Because before you could sprint up to someone who is shooting you and beat them down twice for the kill (we've all done it).

Now? Well, if you want to melee them to death then you are going to have to either weaken their shielding first or have a friend do it. Either way, mindlessly sprinting up to someone who is inflicting more damage on you should not be rewarded.

Love it!
But pistol is slightly OP, and I keep getting crap team mates, but that's not because of the TU probably.

And the good thing is you will still be able to play it. Everyone wins here.

Thats the point I was making, the H3 system when combined with sprint/evade works well since you can't AR rush and sprint at the same time. If some guy wants to sprint/melee rush you you have the ability to shot him while he runs and then he will be weakened and you will have an advantage if you got rid of 3/4 of his shields. In the Reach system the last 1/4 oh his shields might as well be 100% shields and he will prolly win.

Nope. If you love Reach exactly how it was before the TU there will be playlists for that as well.

Oh dear God, I thought that that would be one of the things they were changing in the TU, along with tightening the bloom...I need to go.

The game is even more retarded than it used to be. Free headshots, yay. The game is finally a Halo game, I suppose. This lolTU sounds even more amusing than having a real Halo and Halo 3 on the same sentence.

"Please, don't shake the lightbulb." -Sgt.Johnson

TU Beta is the greatest thing that ever happened since they removed swat from big team battle :D

ZB is just too much fun.

  • 10.04.2011 12:52 PM PDT

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

I like it more than standard slayer, games go much quicker with bleed-through and less bloom. My only concern is that armour lock emp + bleed through makes it overpowered in CQC situations.

  • 10.04.2011 12:53 PM PDT

In regards to novels and "canon". I will pick and choose which ones to support as I damn well please. Cryptum and Glasslands are irrelevant as far as I'm concerned.

Don't like that? Boo hoo.

Sure they're "canon" but that doesn't mean I have to support them, their existence, or the continued careers of their respective writers.

Bleh.

That's all really. I do like the 85% bloom, but zero is like Halo with training wheels.

It's sad I think, that rather than FIX bloom and make it work as it should work people think that getting rid of it entirely is the best answer.
