f you want ZB you need to...make the reticles bigger so they arent mini snipers.

No. Just no.

By increasing the size of the reticle, it would increase the auto-aim and give a larger area for bullet magnetism to take effect. You would literally be dumbing the game down again by doing that.

I've played TU Beta today and one guy armor locked in front of me. I hit him before with my dmr so he got no shields.
But when I wanted to pummel him in armor lock he didnt die?!?
I thought armor lock got nerfed?
So what does this mean?

Sry for my english. its not my first language :)

Cheers

ZB feels less like Reach and more like Halo again. I love it.

It needs to be ZB only tho

Feels like it's making Reach more like Halo 3, which is a step backwards to please the fanboys.

Just dumb, it's taking a huge step backwards

I am genuinely interested in this point of view. How can bullets going where you are aiming them be a step back from bullets going where you didn't aim them?

Makes it realistic you dumb!

Could you be more of an idiot? Nothing about halo is realistic. Does anyone give a F***? No.

Jack of all trades, master of none.

Other than bleed through, it sucks.

I love this playlist, just saying

Because it makes the game too easy. All you gotta do is button mash the RT and aim and thanks to this TU you'll be able to kill them faster with any weapon due to bleeding through. All this is also avoided by if they have a sword your dead instantly thanks to this TU. Mainly I'm coming to the conclusion that this TU sucks incredibly and should not happen.

Magnum wins DMR = bull-blam!-. More melee damage = bull-blam!-. TU = bull-blam!-. Deal with it.

  • 10.08.2011 10:32 AM PDT

It seems that the majority likes the TU.
Isn't my opinion but ok, I cant do anything against it :(

TO ALL YOU WHO SAYS ITS BAD.

343 has given reach a TU, this TU has everything the community asked for in it, reasonably implemented. So if you dislike the update, you can blame yourselves as a whole community, even if you personally wanted nothing to change. Blame yourselves as you are part of the community where the vast MAJORITY wanted these changes exactly as they are.

343 just listened, just like people wanted bungie to....

Love it, the gameplay is faster as it should be.

Not like the Reach, where you throw a grenade to your opponent, shot him with DMR like the whole clip, without shields and somewhat he lives to say it.

There obviously needs to be tweaks (Pistol), but it is much more fast paced and fun. ZB brings more focus on aim and the faster pace makes you have to think quicker and adapt to situations much faster than you would with random/luck bloom.

Reach is 100% perfect, and the single most competitive game since Candyland. Anyone who dares question the godly powers of Bungie is obviously just bad at Halo.

TU takes more skill, nuf said

  • 10.09.2011 3:21 PM PDT

I enjoy it more than default Reach. There's still a big learning curve for me because I haven't played in months. I'd still like to see AL tossed out though. Just my .02.

All you gotta do is button mash the RT and aim

Aiming is hard. Seems like you should know that considering how bad you are at this game. And mashing RT all the time is infinitely better than having to blindly guess at which pace to shoot, and hoping you get lucky.

and thanks to this TU you'll be able to kill them faster with any weapon due to bleeding through.

How is that a bad thing? In vanilla Reach, you could run away from anything. The only time you couldn't was when two or more teammates held hands and attacked you together, but that discouraged skillful, complex positioning. With the TU, teamshooting is still important, but it's more important to spread out and teamshoot at the same time, which is much more difficult.

As for the sword thing, I do agree that the sword is a bit overpowered, but it's nullified by the 4SK magnum. Also, the power of the sword is more a result of bad CQB map design than the TU itself.

Given that H3 had way more players than Reach, why would you think its about pleasing the fan boys and not about changing the game back towards a formula that worked better?

To answer the op's question, for me, the TU cannot improve the mechanics enough to allow for the crappy AA's to be thrown into the mix.

TU in the classic playlist may be decent.

Makes it realistic you dumb!

Realism isn't important.....at all.

Would you ever complain about realism in chess? (why can the Queen move more quickly than the Knight?)

What about Pacman? (he'd explode if he ate that many dots)

What about football? (why do they stop running after they hit the ground? I'd just get back up and keep going towards my objective)

The point is that games are supposed to be fun and very often skill-based, not simulations of real life. Bloom, while somewhat realistic, does not make this game more fun, and it certainly doesn't make it require more skill.

Not saying that I agree with ArchNinja, but Diablo, your statement is blatantly inaccurate. While your comment on auto-aim has some validity, know that it could easily be changed. Also, you clearly don't understand how bullet magnetism works.

Most people think that the bullets land in the reticle, but are more drawn to the part of the reticle with enemies in it. I'm just gonna let ya know that that is not how bullet magnetism works. That's just some myth that gamers have crafted for God knows what reason.
