I'm not complaining as others have, as a matter of fact I'm enjoying everything so far. But in HALO 1, when you unloaded a full clip of the needler into someone it would cause 1 GIGANTIC explosion of needles... but in the new video the SPARTAN gave the Elite a whole clip of needles but it didn't explode as one, but one at a time. Is this how it's going to be? Just wondering. Anybody have any thoughts?

BTW, the new needler is definitely gonna rock some socks.

He didn't use the whole clip. He only used most of it.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

Probably to make the needler more user friendly so that you don't have to worry about killing your self in close quarters.

I also noticed that. I found it to be a dissapointment since I greatly enjoy the delightfull yet destructive after-effect of unloading a full round of needles on someone. Hopefully this conclusion proves to be false.

yeah it might have looked cooler in H1 but as Hedwig said it is "user friendly" this time around.

they probally haven't added all the needler stuff yet. It may still blow up all at once like before.

bah making things user friendly is a load if you ask me. I dont thing there's a doubt that anyone didn't like the needler in halo1. It was just the fact that it completely sucked in multiplayer that made it unpopular. The only thing that wasn't cool about it in halo1, was the fact that the needles moved so slow that you could run directly out of their path. The visual appearance of the weapon, and the after effects of unloading or partial clip into someone made the weapon truely enjoyable especially in single player.

Halo2 needler would be perfect if its rate of fire and tracking is like in the e32k4 demo. But depending on how many needles you pump into your target dictates the size of the subsequent explosion like in halo1

I would be disappointed if the Needler in Halo 2 didn't make people into fireballs. And with the improvements, you could make people scream in MP by lighting them up.

yeah, it's not as visually appealing, but it's more functional. the needles seemed to go faster, and the time it took for them to explode seemed shorter. how many times has it happened to you in HALO where you pump some guy FULL of needles, only to have him turn around and waste you before they blow up? man, that really aggravated me. this way seems to make the likelyhood of that happening much less since they'll be exploding much quicker. we'll have to wait and see how the homing capabilities are. and yeah, it would be nice if you don't get caught up in the blast...although half the fun of the needler was using it against groups of people. lots of secondary damage. we didn't get to see him melee with it, so i'm still hoping they'll include the feature where needles will become imbedded when contact is made with the melee. but yeah, the needler is going to kick so much ass. SO MUCH ASS!

I think they got the explosion just right, you'll notice the needler shoots alot faster and the needles travel faster also. In halo, 7 needles caused a devastating explosion, o if the new needler shot as fast as it does and still caused big explosion, it would be quite unstopable, plus th fact that you can carry two of them!

Actually, if you watch the movie closely, just as Max dies their is a needler explosion, it's just not quite as big as the one in halo 1.

There is one for the amount of needles he's fired. I noticed you dont actually see the needles there, but you do on the screenshots... wierd
