From time to time modders have come into HIH and now jumpers. They make a vid and say they want to be praised and then we catch them on it. I cannot stand those people.
Another type is the guy who thinks he is helping us by divulging secrets, such as killzones, or telling us what is out in the map that they think we don't know about. Those types I try my best to discourage because both of the types I mentioned are anti-exploration.
However, if you state that you have used software like that it is up to you. You have never tried to pass off as though you are not using mods. We just don't want to be told by modders what we can and can't do, we'll find out ourselves. It's a brotherhood thing.
The philosophy of most trickers is that it is the journey that counts, not the ending. Mods will get you to the ending without a journey and that is no fun at all.
Simply getting skulls is in no way a hindrance to guys that don't mod. If I could have a menu of skulls I would. The only time I would not use a menu is doing a SLASO run and any gameplay where the getting of the skulls has to be filmed. It is not fair to the other trickers when that is done.Well I haven't seen much of those.
That's the kind of guy I try to avoid and that's what I meant earlier. I said that Tartarus in the Uprising cutscene may not have a biped and that may discourage exploration.
I see.
Right. Well I only use them to get acquainted with things. I did mod at some points to get to the Cairo Station bomb room and I did mod to get acquainted with Uprising, Oracle, Metropolis, etc. If it weren't for that, I'd be saying Halo 2 Campaign was lackluster because of H2's Legendary's steep learning curve. It's like climbing a tall mountain. You see it, it looks difficult. But when I do it piece by piece and by observation and playtime, I get acquainted with the map and am not inclined to give up so easily. This is why The Covenant is my favorite Halo 3 level.
I have been hoping for a Halo 2 with updated graphics (although I despise Uprising for it's difficulty, I also love it for it's stunning scenery and AI) but you have a good point, that a skull menu might not be fair to those who worked hard to get them. I think what they really should do is give out a few checkpoints at certain points to make skull retrieving easier. What really detracted me yesterday from my typical enjoyment of Halo 2 was the lack of checkpoints.
