Do not waste your tears, I was not born to watch the world grow dim. Life is not measured in years, but by the deeds of men.

IT must not be a retcon if the new version of the book didn't change that aspect.

I am going to pretend that you didn't say "The PoA wasn't damaged" and imagine that you just mistyped or haven't read FoR.

Is the PoA damaged in the opening cutscenes in Halo: CE?

And I'm hesitant to accept new releases of the books as completely acceptable canon based on the fact that many things that we know now contradict the earlier books. Besides, that was just conjecture, as is much of this thread. It's not an unreasonable guess, but it's still an unknown at this point.

You should maybe not try to seem like an arrogant ass when you post, I have no qualms with you.

That can be attributed to the game engine and the fact every halo game has been rushed.

So you say that it might be a retcon then say you don't really accept the new books as canon (Which doesn't matter) yet the PoA was still massively damaged by that time in the book.

For it to be in pristine condition in the game is a massive slap.

You are a pathetic toolbag, get a life -blam!-tard

Please get this thread back on topic, there was no need for people to start talking over physics and radiation (yes I did it too). This is about the data drop and the info I put in the original post.
Halo Science =/= Real Science
2552 tech =/= 2011 tech

Still, it's not possible for Noble Team to survive an frakking 90 million roentgen. Despite they're Spartans, they are still not completely invulnerable to that much radiation. Please, go hack to school to take physics again. You need to understand that 90 million roentgen IS ENOUGH TO DISINTEGRATE entire team in matter of seconds!

Besides, those questions can only be answered by 343i via books, manuals, etc. Not you. Understand?

"Don't play the Ace, if the Two will do."

Also, you, are a Kramer.

Cool post, nice insight into backstory.

I would guess that Kat's radiation meter is linked to a satellite or antennae and the detected radiation spike was not immediately upon them.

Huh? Geiger counters do not need to be link to anything. You really do not know what you are talking about

Its 500 years in the future -blam!-, take a guess that its probably not the same as the modern day tool

Your an idiot. If a Geiger counter doesn't need to be linked to anything now, why they hell would it need to be link to anything in the future? not to mention you do not need a satellite to measure radiation, you can do that with the simple handheld device.

500 years in the future we will not breathe in radiation ether.

While this is better there are still things that need to be better explained.

- what was going on at the relay station that got the Zealots attention other than shutting off communications (which spec ops could/should have done).

- More information on NOBLE team would be nice since we were assured that the game would give a depth explanation to them. Starting with why jun and emile weren't part of the original NOBLE team if they were in Alpha with Carter.

- What Exactly destroyed the covenant corvette on "Sword Base" (not really important but still).

- How noble team was exposed to such extremely high levels of radiation and didn't die.

-What was the purpose of that Artifact halsey found.

- How could the PoA got to the surface of Reach unscathed despite the fact it should be heavily damaged from engagements along with the fact hundreds of covenant ships are in orbit. The same is said for how it left without issue.

Then the actual mechanics of how it could land in the first place are needed.

1.) Take the scientist's data re: Forerunner stuff.
2.) LOLWUT
3.) Orbital MAC cannon.
4.) Read the Trivia section on Halo Nation's page on New Alexandria (level).
5.) Cortana.
6.) Games are canon first, then books. If you look in the background behind the fog (most visible when lightning flashes), some CCS-battlecruisers can be seen. Therefore, the closest ships were at least 5-10 miles away. For the second part, play Halo 2.
