Kind of out of topic. But he says he's probably not going to play Halo PC anymore, so he's asking us of our opinion if this is a good idea to stop playing Halo PC.

First off, people, please post your poll questions AFTER you have stated the subject clearly. If you don't it's really confusing.

Just because you have a 360 doesn't mean you should stop playing HPC. I'm also very lucky to own an Xbox 360. I love it, and I just got it a few weeks ago. It's very enjoyable to play Halo 2 and Call of Duty 2 on Xbox Live, download music, play videos and demos and watch pictures on my TV. It's great.

But I still play Halo PC for a few hours every few days or so. I'm telling you Halo PC's online service beats XBC, at least for me. Xbox Live is awesome and all, but it does not mean you should stop playing Halo PC, because I sure haven't stopped playing it!

I really enjoy my Xbox 360, the first console I've bought in a long time, since PS and N64, but PCs will always be the best gaming platforms for me, and Halo PC is still great. Take this not from a PC fanatic, but as a fellow gamer.

you should get halo 2, but dont bother geting Halo. It would just be a wast of money, because halo PC is beter than halo xbox.

Just be aware of the backwash problems. For some reason, when playing backwash on a 360 the fps drops really low, especially when camo is activated. Check out the zanzibar forum, thers tons of posts on it. I'd wait another year or 2 to get a 360. I have one and I dont find it anything special. Im kinda pissed that i bought it because theres no good games out other than the new ghost recon, and call of duty 2 which is also for pc. Perfect dark sucks, kameo is for little kids, who the hell would buy king kong, and project gotham 3 is alright but not worth $60. There are some more games out there, but definately not worth spending money on. Within the next year or 2 they should start developing games to the full potential, but for now I wouldnt waste yoru money on one. I did, and I'm regretting it. Im debating wheter or not to sell it.

Well there is a slight dip in FPS on my 360 on Backwash, but very slight. I don't face any serious dips in FPS unless I bring some guests with me on Team ActionSack or some other unranked playlist. Since the only consoles I owned were Playstation and Nintendo 64, and I was tired of playing on integrated chips on my computer, I decided to buy a console, where I wouldn't have to worry if my machine could handle the graphics or the FPS or whatever. So I decided to get the Xbox 360. Premium, of course, because you get a great deal, and it comes with the Hard Drive so I can play Halo and Halo 2.

If you were retarded enough to buy the core version, sell it. You'll get a hundred bucks extra what you paid for on eBay. You should have bought the core version.

Not to mention, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Call of Duty 2 may be out for PC, but even the really beefy gaming rigs out there break a sweat on CoD2. On the 360 there is absolutely no dip in framerates like that. The only downside is that the Xbox Live multiplayer is really fudged up, and Infinity could have polished it up a bit more, and the fact that you can only have up to 8 players on Live, so the PC version wins out on that part, not to mention the online community that supports it and all the downloadable content.

But seriously, if you don't own an Xbox, get the premium version of the 360.

heyyo,

i have a 360 and i play it pretty often, but i still play halo pc, it just has a nicer atmosphere, halo 2 is full of 10 year olds that scream at the top of their lungs when u head shot them fair and square, it is fun but i still play halo pc, o and 360 itself is deffinately worth it, i love the media center capabilities, and the graphics are really nice looking on 360 games

hope that helps

Agh! "Heyyo" is the coveted opening phrase used exclusively by ThE MarD...only the most elite and informative sources of information are allowed to use that opening! (It's part of this forum's subculture...)

And about posting this in the HPC forums...to be honest, you will get a biased response, since most people here are dedicated PC enthusiasts. Not too many people will suggest going over to the 360.

Whether it was a good or bad decision depends on how good your PC is. If you were playing on a Celeron with Intel Integrated graphics, then yeah it was a good choice. If you were playing on a dual-core Athlon FX with dual 7900 GTXes, then you, sir, are a moron.

I would still play it even if I did have a super computer gaming rig with enough graphics processing power to emulate the light and shadows of the sun on Mars at 112 fps. I'd just spend more time pwning all that I could on my PC as well as on the console.

Still, PCs are the top platforms IMO. That GeForce 7900 supports high-definition gaming, I heard.
