Subject: Bungie Fan-made Weekly Review (Week One, 10.9.11)

What a hipster.

Lately I've noticed an uproar in complaints about users wanting the weekly updates back, but the fact of the matter is Bungie is dark, and I anticipate they're going to stay that way for some time. So I thought, "if we can't have the Weekly Update, why don't we put together the next best thing?" A Weekly Review where the members can interact, and add what they feel was important or funny in the weeks past.

I know it's not as exciting, but it's better than nothing.

Weekly Review:

On a Serious Note:

- Jeremiah requests our assistance for more testing on the next project. If you haven't be able to lend a hand yet, here's the link.

- Bricypoo created a Bnet Members List of (for the most part) all the Community members stating their join dates. Haven't put your name on the list and is interested? Link.

- Achronos explains some of the signing in problems. Link.

- Rokit's Notification + idea. Link.

- Acnboy34's Remembrance of The Bungie Archives thread. Link.

- A change in the Privacy Statement. Link.

- Group error messages resolved. Link.

- The time between messages has been shortened. Link.

- DMG's Community story. Link.

- The Community's opinion since the darkness. Link.

Lol Moments of the Week:

- The Mods are best of friends. So they say. Link.

- If the forums didn't have spam. Link.

- Recon's older than the planet itself. Link.

- The Bungie has Become MS thread. (lol moment). Link.

- Dinkleberg's epic lol moment. Link.

- The rediscovery of an old "lol" moment. Link.

- So Bungie Mugs do exist. Link.

This is only the beginning. Let the list continue.

If you feel anything should be added, feel free to contribute. Your ideas will be added to the list.

Note: It doesn't have to be on just the Community Forum, it can be anything on the site that you liked, or thought was cool from the past week.

Remember to look back guys! It was a long week. About 10 pages long actually.

"We live in a special time; the only time where we can observationally verify that we live in a very special time" - Lawrence Krauss.

I was a finalist :P

Past memory news:

While randomly typing a number between 1 and 28,971 in the flood url (http://www.bungie.net/forums/topics.aspx?forumID=10&topi cRepeater1-p=[X]) I came across this little thread:

16.08.2005

The probably of finding such a unique thread is indeed low, and I found it to be my highlight on this site for the week. History does deserve a mention in news right? :)

Well the other day I got sent the following message

"U SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF U -blam!- ABORTED MONKEY -blam!- IF I EVER SEE U I WILL TIE U TO A TRUCK AND TRAIL U ACROSS EUROPE SPREADING UR BLOOD LIKE DIARIA DOWN A SEWER PIPE AND TO FINISH U OFF ILL RIP OUT UR HEAD AND -blam!- DOWN UR NECK"

To which I responded with..

"UMAD BRO?"

That was pretty exciting I guess. Should be added to the list.

I was thinking it should be more general. Affecting more than just one person, rather than each individuals private messages. Nether the less, lol.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

A lot more things happened this week, this is only the things relating to the mods and employees. :/

Haha I like this idea Commander. I'll be sure to contribute if I find anything interesting.

Ken, it's just a starting point. The purpose of this is to get the Community to participate and add what they want on the list. Some cooperation would be helpful.

“Dinkleberg!” is a catchphrase used by the character Dad in the Nickelodeon cartoon show “The Fairly Odd Parents.” In the show, Dad has an unrelenting hatred towards the well-to-do and happy neighbor, Dinkleberg, who gets blamed for everything bad that happens. The phrase is used in a similar way, by giving the blame for everything bad that happened to Dinkleberg. This can vary from mundane day-to-day problems to natural disasters.

For the time being, I can live with this.

A party hat; you don't get one. An honor will this party be, a party in your honor, for your honor. Some of Tfear's personal guards are going to be there. You'll be introduced shortly.
