Subject: My Dad, a Bungie fan before me?

Greetings from Singapore:)

Hi people,

So I was playing Marathon 1 on the iPad today [RIP Steve Jobs] and my Dad came up to me and asked me what game I was playing. So I told him Marathon, and he said that he was a really big fan of the game and Bungie, and had completed 1, 2 and infinity before I had been born! I never knew that!

Then I asked him whether he knew Bungie was the company that created the Halo franchise and he said 'Of course, that's why Halo 2 was the first game we bought on the Xbox, remember? Now I realise why he picked Halo 2 over all the other FPS's in the store.

Halo 2 was the very first FPS I ever played, that's why I love Bungie:)

Do you know any other Bungie fans in your family?

I was a finalist :P

When Halo CE came out with the X-box, my dad was required by my mum to test out the game. My dad, who loved the action genre, assumed this game was going to be 'bad' (not the term he actually used). When he inserted the disc, he found it to be one of the greatest games he had ever played (even though he had only played solitaire and Half-life on PC).

Then came Halo 2. I was waiting at the midnight release when we got the game (I also saw my Year 6 teacher buying it as well :] ) and my dad, once again, tested and eventually finished it. He then blatantly cursed for the cliffhanger at the end.

He also, humorously cursed a lot while playing on Legendary difficulty.

You saw your teacher at the Midnight release of Halo 2? Weird... I can't imagine a class teacher playing... nevermind...

As we were leaving with Halo 2, he pointed at me and said 'That's not fair' (because we were ahead of him in line).

His classes were awesome. Once a week (for about an hour), we would talk about X-box live, and Halo.

Lol:) How long was the queue?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

That is pretty Awesome, my friend's grandpa plays Halo PC like every day. :P

My entire family knows Bungie as:

1) I keep talking to my Mom about it to relieve my boredom. She constantly rolls her eyes.
2) I bought my sister a Superintendent shirt. She finds the faces cute.
3) My Dad played Marathon and Halo CE before I even learnt what Bungie was.

No thanks, I'm not very software installation savvy. I'll probably screw up my Mac in the process, and it will become laggy as -Blam!-

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Lucky. My dad only played pong and maybe space invaders.

Not really anything you could do to screw it up, just follow the instructions in the OP of the thread. =)

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

My dad tells me to go build a tree house or play stick ball like he used to when he was a kid.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

No kidding. I had to stop and read again when he said he wasn't born yet when Marathon: Infinity came out.

That's cool though. You guys should have something to talk about this coming year, eh?

True. But there is no escape from lag...

I once downloaded the Halo CE demo for my Mac. When I pushed down the button on the mouse to fire, a bullet came out after 3 seconds. And only 1 bullet.

To top it all off, I drove a warthog into the sea after the keyboard refused to respond, all because of lag...

Probably hardware limitations. Means you'd need a better computer.

You won't have that problem with Marathon... it's 20 years old nearly. Whatever kind of computer you have should handle it fine.
