Have you ever thought about Forge World as a Campaign mission?I got bored last weekend and decided to create a story based mission using the areas of Forge World.
Here is a Map showing you the basic layout of the level.

The Basic Story Line
So without going too much in to the fiction from before this mission, you play a Spartan III, Jack-049 and you are onboard a Pelican drop ship in pursuit of a Sangheili Fleet Master who escaped in the previous mission. (note, this mission does not take place on a Halo Installation, but in fact a planet outside of UNSC space)
As you approach, the Phantom carrying the Elite enters a Forerunner hanger bay (the box under the quarry section) and large blast doors seal him in. Before you can retreat and find another way inside, the large Anti-Aircraft Gun fires on your pelicans. Upon taking damage, Pelican Charlie Two spirals down around the island (Paradiso) before crashing on the west side. Your Pelican, Sierra One, crashes on the eastern shore of a large canyon (Hemorage) killing the pilot, leaving only you and your fellow Spartan Eve-212 (also from SIII Gamma Company)

Mission Start Objective - Locate Charlie Two and check for survivors.
The long range radio in your pelican is damaged, so you need to get to Charlie Two to contact the Warendorph.
Attached to your Pelican was a Scorpion tank, damaged but still operable. The canyon is filled with Covenant ground troops, Wraiths, Ghosts, a Revenant and a large Scarab tank. Unlike Reach, this Scarab can be destroyed. There is a safer route around the edge of the canyon where you will find plenty of weapons for co-op players who can't get in the tank. Once you reach the end of the canyon, you will have to travel through the cave and on to the beach.
Ahead of you is the island; you can see the crashed Pelican and the marines fighting off the Covenant. From here, you have to make your way down the coast and across the shallow water to the island. (In Forge World there are two ways on to the island, but I have removed the one near the pelican for gameplay reasons).
Once on the island, the player/s in the tank and must travel the long way around while any others can cut through the island, encountering light Covenant armour.

Rally Point Alpha Objective - Destroy Covenant AA gun.
Once you reach Charlie Two, you contact the Warendorph and tell them that the Elite is locked inside the mountain side. You propose the use of the UNSC Destroyer's MAC cannons; however the captain tells you that you need to dispose of the AA gun in order for the Warendorph to approach. You must now make your way back across the island and to the door in the side of the cliff back on the beach.
The next part of the level (Rooms 1 to 6) takes place inside the cliff (it doesn't actually exist in Forge World) and is very reminiscent of the Halo CE level 'Assault on the Control Room' in the way the rooms are set out and in design.
Once you have made your way through the first room you will come to another door which lead outside. Out here will be a bridge very similar to this bridge from Halo 2 (skip to 4 mins) and there will be a Phantom hovering close by offloading troops.
From here you work your way to Room 6 which is a much larger room where you will face off against Hunters and many Elites, similar to the 'Mausoleum' from Halo 2 in terms of gameplay. There will be an outer ring which circles the room with a bridge running across the middle. The roof will be very high up and the bottom will look like an endless pit, with water flowing in from the edges.
Once you exit Room 6 you will find an elevator; Ride it.

Rally Point Bravo Objective - Steal a Banshee and find the Fleet Master.
Once the elevator reaches the top, you will find yourself in the Quarry section of Forge World (Asylum). Here there will be a Wraith and some other light armour for you to tackle. You can either fight them or you can make a quick dash for the Banshee and destroy them with that.
You now have to fly the Banshee to the AA gun and destroy it; but there will be many other Banshees and a few Phantoms to stop you. You can take your time destroying them as the AA gun is too short range to hit you, but you will have to watch out for the Grunts and Elites with Fuel Rod Guns. Once you have dealt with the Banshees and Phantoms you have to land on the gun and destroy it manually, repeatedly shooting it won't work (it makes it more interesting).
After the detonation sequence has started you need to get back to your banshee as soon as possible, because when it blows, it will destroy the pillar, killing anyone who was on it. So it would make sense to kill all the Covies before damaging the core. Now it is safe, the UNSC Destroyer Warendorph can fly in (just like the Dawn in Halo 3) and it will fire two MAC rounds, blowing the doors clean open. Don't get in the way!
Fly in to the hanger (Room 7). There will be lots of dead bodies and vehicles destroyed from the blast. Make your way through the rouble, collecting any weapons, to the door at the back. Room 8 will have two Shade turrets, two Hunters, and a whole host of Covies for you to destroy. Once you get to Room 9, you will see the Fleet Master and four Honour Guards. He will slip off in to Room 10 leaving you to fight the Guards. Finish them off and enter Room 10.

A cutscene will start showing Jack and Eve enter Room 10 (which will be a bit like the Control Room from Halo 3). Another four Honour Guards will be standing around the room that advance on them. The Spartans quickly dispatch them with style. They both advance on the Fleet Master who draws his sword. But it is too late; they both tackle him and restrain him, marching him back to the hanger where a Pelican Drop ship awaits.

Technical Details
You play as Jack-049, with your companion Eve-212 (much like the Arbiter in Halo 3). A co-op player will take controle of Eve and any other players will play as default armour Spartans.

Music
The music I would use are as follows;
Start - Reclaimer (Halo 2)
Rally Point Alpha - More than his share (ODST)
Rally Point Bravo (outside) - This is our land (Halo 3)
Rally Point Bravo (inside) - Gravemind (Halo 3)
Preferably I would use these tracks as templates, not just exact copies.

I should point out that where I have used Asylum or Paradiso as referance to a place on Forge World, the actual building blocks that appear on those maps won't be present in the Campaign level, although there will be some bits and pieses here and there.

Its a campaign map set on the whole of Forge World; enjoy :)

You've obviously spent some time on this, it's a shame we can't place covenant in forge to test you map out properly.

Nice, looks awesome. I was thinking on similar lines. If only halo reach had some of the same capabilities as halo custom edition...

I personaly would not be able to make this on my own. My skill bearly surpass photoshop and google sketchup lol

But in the hands of say bungie or 343 or any game developer, it would be posible.
