What would our role be? would we replace the elites due to our superior tactics and sheer might? would we be politicians? I have to say I wanna know what armor the covenant would make for us I bet it would look sick.

  • 10.09.2011 2:50 PM PDT

lolwut?

Frontlines. Elites are more intelligent and strong, brutes are stronger, and jackals are faster. We'd be with the grunts who have strength, while we use human tactics.

  • 10.09.2011 2:51 PM PDT

Replace the Elites? Don't make me laugh. Humans, that can't even beat Jackals in arm wrestling wouldn't replace a superior species. Sure we have Spartans. But we never even made 1000. They have billions of Elites.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

We'd be the Grunts' b*tches.

Yeah but it be easy to make us stronger through exo skeletons, im sure the covenant could have made them. I mean a spartan kicks an elites ass, so if the whole military joined then our armor would be upgraded to that of a spartan for all the armed forces

Jackals are the weakest of all of the species, not counting Skirmishers.

And elites are not smarter than us, our tactics and intelligence made us last 27 years against them against all odds

I guess the UNSC being better ground tacticians doesn't matter then, huh?

Exactly humans are very intelligent and elites are smart but not as smart as us. Our tactics are far superior in almost every way

Tactics mean nothing when a giant glassing beam negates such tactics.

Somewhere above Grunts and maybe Jackals. What we lack in strength we make up for in cunning.

Im saying like the armor they give us could make us strong like them, look what the spartan program did. Cunning plus strength should replace the elites and brutes

I think we'd be around jackals, but we'd work our way up pretty quickly.

Elites are very intelligent, their pride, honor, and arrogance gets in the way of their logic and reasoning, and THAT's what makes the Covenant lose on the ground. Their basic and standard issue plasma weaponry (PP, PR) isn't really much to brag about either since that versus UNSC weaponry is pretty evenly matched. I say this because of the way the Covenant weapons work. With a Magnum and Assault Rifle with near-instantaneous impact, and armor-piercing capability versus a Plasma Pistol with sort of weak, relatively slow bolts, and a Plasma Rifle with a bit faster, and stronger bolts, the UNSC weapons triumph.
That, coupled with the UNSC's smarts, anyway. On barren ground, it'd be 40(UNSC)/60(Covie).

From seeing Thel, I always got the feeling that he was a more gentle and rational Elite on the inside, allowing him to perform so successfully, more than any other Elite, in combat.
I really got the feeling that Thel was different from the other Sangheili.

we'd have the original forrunner combat skins as armor.

we'd be in the covenant as possibly the right hands of the prophets considering we are the reclaimers. if it werent for the brutes the prophets wouldn't have ordered our destruction anyways. so yeah wed be farther up than elites. however what would we be fighting?

  • 10.09.2011 3:06 PM PDT

I think we'd probably fall somewhere between the Jackals and Grunts, or be placed higher in the pecking order like the Brutes and serve as minor leaders in combat positions or something like that. And it would not surprise me if Humanity caused a schism within the Covenant or something, we don't take liking to being a position of subordination akin to slaver, so it would not surprise me if Humanity eventually led some sort of rebellion.

And due to the whole instability of the Covenant's political system we would not be without allies. There'd probably be plenty of Grunts who would work with humanity in exchange for better treatment, the Jackals would probably be able to be persuaded to join in exchange for goods they were ordinarily not permitted to own under Covenant rule, Brutes might join in due to their adversarial position with the Elites (the Brutes joining is a very big maybe that probably would not happen), and who knows, more might join but I don't really know. In any case I'd be willing to bet that if Humanity had been inducted into the Covenant and were able to recruit other client species to rebellion that Humanity's forces would be out the Covenant loyalists. We've always been smarter than them when it comes to a technological and strategic standpoint and the only real reason we were losing the war in the real Halo story is because our tech was much less developed. So with the same technology, and our ability to make it better, we'd probably end up destroying the Covenant and winning against them.

Good thing we're talking about scenarios purely based on the ground then.

On the ground sure, but not in space. And that is where it mattered.

Okay, listen, we should get our stories straight, all right? If anyone asks, and no one's gonna ask, don't worry, but if anyone asks, tell them as far as you know, the last time you checked, everyone looked pretty much alive, all right? Not dead.

Even though we are probably more intelligent than the Elites it would not mean much. The Elites are anti-intellectuals; they value might over intellect, and view anything other than combat as being a frivolous task. We would be placed in with the Jackals and Grunts due to our weaker physical abilities.

Also, good luck making every religion humanity has null and void. We would not willingly be absorbed into the Covenant.
