]]]]]Mom says: Just play the game already! [[[[[

Yes, I AM your mom

I searched Bungie.net, and you failed.

You got your freedom from Microsoft, so you could develop for any game, concept, or platform you wanted. Your early days developing for the Mac computer, and now for the IPhone, show your love for Apple.

But not ONE mention for the passing of Steve Jobs.

I am not an Apple "fangirl" or cult follower. I actually never owned a Mac, or an iphone, nor an ipod. However, with the news that Steve Jobs died from cancer, I was researching just why the tech world just blew up with tributes to this man.

He was a visionary whos tech and marketing savvy changed the landscape of all technology we use today. My computer and droid phone would not be here today because of him. Your experience with computers, internet, and even reading this post would be completely different. Even if I buy technology that competes with his, I am still getting the benefit of innovation his company created.

So, Bungie, you got your freedom. You didn't satisfy me with the products you made with this freedom. After what I learned about Steve Jobs, I came back to bungie.net curious to read all about your opinions and memories...to find silence.

I was up with you because I loved Halo and the Halo universe. Now, I see Frankie has left to go with Microsoft/343, and as far as I am concerned, he took the heart and soul of Halo with him.

You smell like a non-entity to me, and I have lost all interest in your "global domination" plans...Crimson Pirates (snerk)

Bye bye, Bungie

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

So....

What are you mad about?

You're mad because Bungie didn't put up a "Steve Jobs" tribute, or you're mad because Bungie isn't doing Halo anymore?

Seems to me that you took what might have been an interesting debate (though decidedly poorly initiated) and turned it into the standard anti-Bungie bandwagon rant that we've seen a zillion times here, and which is incredibly boring because it lacks both factual foundation and originality.

He just died.

Not to mention, the memories shared between Bungie and Jobs are between Bungie and Jobs. They don't have to tell you anything.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

Jobs was a businessman who wanted to make a buck. He succeeded in that. He was absolutely brilliant and made millions, but that's all he was, a businessman.

He couldn't tell you how an iPad worked, how the touch screen follows the commands of your fingertips. He couldn't tell you the technological advances from model to model of iPhones. He knew how to market his products, make an image people flock to, and make millions.

You are giving him a bit too much credit.

Honestly, it doesn't upset me that Bungie didn't make a big news topic for his death. He had nothing to do with Bungie or what they do. Sure, it's devastating and saddening, but you are taking this a little too personally.

And would Steve Jobs want to attack another online community with hostility simply because we haven't collectively mourned for him? Would he appreciate you mocking Bungie's recent work? So instead of a simple "Why don't aren't we remembering Steve Jobs here?" you have used his death to direct a temporary anger on Bungie for not satisfying you.

Congrats.

Okay, listen, we should get our stories straight, all right? If anyone asks, and no one's gonna ask, don't worry, but if anyone asks, tell them as far as you know, the last time you checked, everyone looked pretty much alive, all right? Not dead.

@Stormkiller626 I Agree

Jobs was a man on this Earth as you or I am. While he was a important figurehead for Apple, he was not in relation to Bungie.

Does anyone else not care that Steve Jobs died? Sure, he brought things to this world, but it was clear he was suffering greatly from his battle with cancer. I mean, it is not like we couldn't see this coming.....

Steve Jobs has been remembered on Marty's twitter, TMA, and The Flood.

He was a great man, and did great things. but there can only be so much mourning before it becomes overwhelming. Not every organisation HAS to make an official statement to inform people of his passing.

Let it go.

Exactly, I'm sure his family and friends both agree they are happy he no longer has to live through the hell that is fighting cancer.
