Subject: New site update request.

Skillet was here and referred to himself in the third person.

Hey...I was wondering...you know how the mods and ONLY the mods have those colors in there posts that jump out and say "HEY! I'M A MOD!" when you first see that color?

Well...could in one of the updates...make it so that people you assign in the security roles could have stuff like that? I've been having trouble with people that don't look at the rank and they start yelling at one of MY ninjas!

KOTOR | The WarriorsI'll chain you to the truth for the truth shall set you free
I'll turn the screws of vengeance and bury you with honesty
I'll make all your dreams come to life, then slay them as quickly as they came

That wouldn't work very well. Different chapters have different abilities for their moderators.

Well...I'm talking about the security roles checkboxes...if you wanted to make a group where everybody had red text...you could do it!

I've just had people yelling at and getting blacklisted by people with higher ranks because they are to ignorant to see what rank they are!

So I just figured if they had a differant color of text...the people would automatically know when a moderator has posted something.

It would be helpfull to everybody.

"I pledge to punch all switches, to never shoot where I could use grenades, to admit the existence of no level except Total Carnage, to never use caps lock as my "run" key, and to never, ever, leave a single BoB alive."

2B || !2B - Why don't you look Inside the Machine?

I think it is a good idea that has no future...I mean yea it would work. But then I don't think Achronos would allow it because Group Ninja's could abuse it. Not that I would, but I am sure there are people who would. Colored Text for B.net users is like Catnip on steroids.

Actually I think its not a bad idea.
It doesnt seem like it would be terribly hard to implement, and it could add a little flavor to the groups of the seventh column.
I vote For it.

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

As Miles says, this is a very hard thing to implement because they must define the difference between posting in chapters/groups and posting in the main forums.

However, if we were allowed to assign a post colour to a specific security role aswell as choose which colour we assign, then it would be pretty cool and would also increase the demand for promotions (thus increasing activity and whatnot).

EXACTLY!

It's like I said...if you wanted a group where EVERYBODY used a certain color of text...you could! And I don't think the people would abuse it...it's just colored text...I think they would abuse being a mod in the group period!

@trueunderdog

Chapter

Narwhallace Smithington: Gone, but not forgotten. Never approve of anything lil guy. <3
Furious George: The new -blam!-

I like the idea, though there are probably more important issues to be dealt with; I like the idea nonetheless.

Thanks to anybody who thinks it's good...I just thought since the B.net mods have it...the mods in groups could have it to. I was thinking somethin like:

You go into the security roles area and in the "Other" section it says something like "Text Color" and then if you check the box it asks what color you want that role to have.

So if you wanted to imitate Bungie...you could have all the mods with white text.

I'm in your group. You can make me a ninja, and I'll moderate your forums to make them stop yelling.

The people who run the group may make everyone's posts the background colour or something. And their's a really annoying colour. I'd prefer not.

Well then no one would join their group TGP. That or everyone would leave. =D

Why is everyone here so adverse to change? It definately wouldn't be a bad thing to improve the features on this site. Something I'd like to see is a "Who is on now?" thing at the bottom of the site: LIKE EVERY OTHER FORUM HAS.

Of course, now I'm about to get flamed because then "people would abuse it, blah blah blah," they'd send spam PMs. That isn't really a problem on other forums. As an example everyone can relate to, RvB has it. They don't have problems. So why shouldn't we have it?

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

You've got that right. I sorely miss the steel blue text that I used to use... it was so cool...

I find it ironic that right after yelling out typo, you go ahead and double post.

Kind of hypocritical. However, that's just my opinion.

I'm not talking about doing a system like text! I'm talking about a security role option!

I think this is a good idea. The benefits certainly outweight the dangers. And since the dangers are near zero, we can be assured that the benefits has pretty much broken the scale. And since we know that, we might as well do it huh? lol

That's easy for you to say, you're not actually programming that.

I still like the idea...maybe there could be something else...if you wanted...you could enable certain ranks to use the system...that way...nobody else could use it and only the people you allow could...if they wanted to. Anyway...there seem to be more people that like the idea than people that are against it.

Please.

Unless Bungie.net was designed to not encorporate any form of expansion, that's rather easy. You could do it with either a nip of Javascript in the page itself, which would essentially color the text boxes of all people of a certain rank. That or you could write an ASP.NET script that auto-ads <span color = "white"> </span> to members of certain rank before the page renders...either way, it's really not hard. Especially for a professional designer/coder like Archronos or Sketch.

What if we get "Anti-make-eyes-bleed" colours?! WOULD THAT WORK?!

Make it so there are only a limited number of colors to choose from and don't let people change the background.
