Let's say someone is permabanned on the mains, and in a group they ask someone to post something for them. Would that count as ban evasion? Are there and consequences for the person that posted on their behalf?

There is a reason why permabanned users are not permitted to post on the main forums. To post something on their behalf could cause the poster to be banned if the moderators were to find out about it.

Don't do it.

I guess it could be seen as an involuntary approach to post on the mains via someone else. Getting banned means not having the ability to post on the main at all (until your ban is lifted), the way you described seems as if the person banned is posting, though through another route (much like posting on the mains using an alternate account).

This. Although I'm sure there are exceptions when the permabanned user has requested you make a topic which involves no rule-breaking content whatsoever. In that case, the topic should be clean of any rule-breaking material and no consequences made to your account.

I highly suggest NOT including references to who thought of the topic.

E.g. Somewhere in the topic you state "This was inspired by [insert permabanned user's username]" or "This was inspired by someone who is permabanned."

Well that settles it. If Achronos thinks it's a bad idea, it's a bad idea.

ATTENTION MODERATORS. My latest ban (14-day ban from Qbix89) is not legitimate, take a look for yourself. Please review this before considering me a "repeat offender". Thank you.

When I was banned, a good friend on these forums asked if I wanted him to post anything on my behalf. I told him no simply because I knew it would put him at risk.

He only posted why I was banned, and nothing more.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

What if it wasn't a permabanned user, but a user in a ban with an expiration date (Like 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, etc)?

Then that person can wait until their ban is up to create the thread on their own.

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

Why not just make the post and not mention it's for the other person? But what seriously does he need to post what's that important to ask another person to make the post for him.

Why?

If someone PMs me and says "I'm banned, but can you post this for me in that thread you made?", why can't I post it if it's appropriate?

Agreed. It's like putting a personalised filter on what the accused is posting. You're obviously not going to post it if it's obscene or banworthy because then you'll get banned.

The only problem is:
A) Dual accounts, "MLGSNIPA told me to post this"
B) friends who would post anything for the accused and jump off a bridge if they asked them to.

I'd say its because its an attempt to bypass that ban. If a user is banned, they should stay away from posting in the public until that ban is done.

I can't think of any real valid reason as to why you'd need to relay a message from a banned user via thread. They'd either have to be a "message from banned user thread", which is bad because we don't like threads made solely to convey some personal conversation. Or "this thread was (banned user)'s idea", in which case is mentioning publicly how you got around the system.

Just don't bother with it. You shouldn't need to tie someone's username to a thread for any reason. If its worthy of a discussion on its own merit, then you don't need to mention anyone else. If its not, then that thread should never have been made in the first place.

Yeah. Damn that's a nice avatar. Lol. Main reason for quote. Anyways like the ninja said don't do it. There is a reason why they can't post. If bungie didn't care they'd just make an appeal forum.

Thank you. My question was mainly about allowing someone who was banned to express their views on a thread through a quote or something of the like in my post.

Clears that up.
