the sound track to all of the halo titles are amazing and I wish the rest of the public would appreciated them the same way they appreciate movie soundtracks

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

It's impossible to not appreciate Halo's soundtrack. What are you on about?

How can you not appreciate the Halo soundtracks? They are clearly the best game soundtracks around.

They are certainly under-appreciated; how dare IGN speak so ill of perhaps the greatest music composed in the 21st century. Those reviewers must hate Western traditional and musical practices, which Halo music so fully develops. I agree with the OP: the score to the Halo Trilogy is not given enough credit.

IGN did give a 9.5 for ODST's...

I know kung fu...

Marty O'donnell is a genius composer and is highly appreciated among all Halo fans and other gaming communities.

What are you on about 'ere?

@spaboolly

I have all the soundtracks from the trilogy on my ipod =D

But I have to agree that Halo's soundtrack is probably the best original game music from the 21st century. All the other classic game soundtracks are (at least mostly) based on older games in the same series. Example: Legend of Zelda (got all those on my ipod too lol).

Marty definitely gets major props for his musical genius. All the people who showed their appreciation for him at Halo Fest prove that. As shown in this video starting at 4:25.

I don't know, I think Final Fantasy's music surpasses it on several occasions. But I agree Halo's is more consistently great.

I agree but only from 10's soundtrack. Nevertheless Halo's soundtrack is great. They sure love their chords!

And it is the statement that the lesser parts are greater than the true and right Halo Trilogy which demonstrates IGN's militant assault of truth, tradition, and reason.

"I will show you how a true Prussian officer fights!"

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Soundtracks and Novels, alike, are looked down upon once people hear it's from a video game. It's completely ridiculous, but that's the way the world thinks.

'Oh, what ya reading?'...'A Halo novel.'...'Wow, you're a nerd.'
'Hey, what ya reading?'...'A Stephen King novel.'...'Oh cool. Is it good?'

'Watcha listening to?'...'The Halo ODST soundtrack.'...'Wow, nerd much?'
'Hey, watcha listening to?'..."The Inception soundtrack.'...'Sweet. I loved that movie.'

Just the way things work, unfortunately.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

The majority of gamers (Who are really the most likely people to even know of the music) appreciate and acknowledge how good his music is.

That's why when I'm publicly reading i'll usually purposely be reading something like Lord of the Rings so everyone knows not to freakin' mess with my choice of literature!

Thats true, but they should be more widely recognised for their greatness.

I study and write papers while listening to all of the Halo soundtracks. Only problem is I start wanting to play Halo about mid-way through the paper, so sometimes I take a longer than usual Halo break.
