There was the ark portal in both 3 and ODST, the interior of High Charity, the cities of New Alexandria and Mombasa, the battle of Szurdok Ridge...

...but probably NOTHING will match looking up at Halo and seeing the ground curve up above your head.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

Overlooking the Savannah on Tsavo Highway, the city of High Charity, the lakes on Delta Halo, just to name a few.

As of November 15th 2011, The second level of Halo 1.

We should know better, because we are better.

Tsavo Highway, Installation 04(II), and the Portal opening.

Just to name some from each game.

Halo CE:
- Halo landing
- Silent Cartographer.

Halo 2:
- Outskirts overlooking the bridge to New Mombasa Central.
- Delta Halo overlooking the lake.
- Quarantine Zone, seeing the Library all the time, the dark vibe, stuff going on in the sky.
- High Charity, the immense size of it all!

Halo 3:
- Tsavo Highway, talking about scale and size: this takes the crown with that immensly impressive cloud over the Ark
- Floodgate, the whole atmosphere and that giant orb in the sky
- Halo, with the Ark hovering above you

ODST:
- ONI building during nighttime in the distance
- Any random spot overlooking the city at night.
- NMPD HQ, amongst the skyscrapers
- Coastal Highway, first time Halo truely showed a Covie invasion with New Mombasa in the background, all the Banshees flying around, Cruisers dropping in, the Capital Ship glassing the city: pure epicness

Reach:
- Winter Contingency, the rugged terrain looked epic
- ONI: Swordbase, that glacier looked amazing.
- Tip of the Spear, the battle going on.
- New Alexandria. Captured ODST's atmosphere and seeing a glassing during nighttime...just epic. Really added to the emotion at this point.
- Pillar of Autumn, I mean: seeing PoA in the distance and the huge battle over the mountains on the other side...

To bad Wars didn't really have any real vistas in game, altough I must say seeing the interior of the Shield World was amazing, just as seeing SoF over Harvest.

"violent video games make me murder innocent people the way Monopoly makes me rich"

Sierra 117 was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen <--Not overstated. I had never played an Xbox, been trapped with a PS2 and MOH Rising Sun before that. It was a great way to get a look at Halo.

This and when the halo activates in halo 2 and when the halo activates while cheif is standing and flying away through the portal.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Sierra 117 from Halo 3 and almost every level in Reach.

Reach has the best vistas and skyboxes in any game to date.

Still using a pump-action shotgun over 500 years in the future I see.

omg not realistic stop game production plz

To me, nothing, not even the vistas of Installation 04, match looking at the vast interior of High Charity whilst hearing this.

Just thinking about all the Covenant activity and mini-stories that will have happened in that immensely vast, sprawling Covenant space-city blows my mind.

Mind you, the control room of Delta Halo was also an astonishing vista.

They come now... and they take us... the tide rises.

Halo CE:
- Truth and Reconciliation - Threshold is very big planet, and if it fall under our heads?
- Assault on the Control Room
- Two Betrayals
- Keyes... i never seen a so intersting situation: Humans, Covenants, Floods and a covie cruiser ready for lunch XD We are ready for infect the galaxy!

Halo 2:
- The Arbiter
- Delta Halo
- Sacred Icon/Quarantine Zone - Library is massive :|
- Gravemind - holy purity of the city of gods servants.

Halo 3:
- The Storm O_O wow what the gate! There are panic grips?
- Floodgate
- Cortana O_O' look that! Its a Flood Hive!

Halo 3 ODST:
I think all game is beautifull but i prefer sequent missions:
- ONI Alpha Site;
- Data Hive;
- Coastal Highway.

Halo: Reach
- Nightfall "Move in behind enemy lines and evaluate the opposition."
- Tip of the Spear.
- Lone Wolf.

Uhm, best level and vistas for me, is in Keyes level. Night, covie and flood in battle everywere, damage covenant cruiser and a proto-gravemind behind all clashes, fear, honor and ferocity, its perfect synthesis of Halo.

Straight Edge.

Halo 3

Don't -blam!- with Kerser!

On the last level of Halo 3 "Halo" when you look up at the sky you see the ark being ripped apart and the planet in the middle. The best skybox IMO.

Reach has the best vistas and skyboxes in any game to date.

But they're so dull! They honestly feel like they could be put into MW3 or BF3.. (Not including the space mission... ;) )

All the other games had incredible vistas. Reach's were negatively influenced by the fact the campaign was more grounded and everything looked like a grey/brown/orange mush.
