I think it meant more graceful then physically, like the way a big cat walks, grace and power?

... I hope thats what he meant.

Gah, my old picture was a picture of an old Marylin Monroe.

But how can people not see? You guys lack the imagination and possibly the processing power for that kind of task.

Wow people really failed to read the subtexts that Bear has woven into Cryptum.

Ancient humans were a very wise and technologically advanced race, hell they fought on even terms with the forerunners. But they lost, and for their transgressions the forerunners took from them their greatest asset; societal advancement. They de-evolved them back to the stone age.

The san shyumm also transgressed against the forerunners, and for that the forerunners took from them what they perceived to be THIER greatest asset; their beauty and sensuality, and happiness. They twisted the san shyuum into the grotesque, bitter, stubby little things who can barely walk that they are now.

Dont mess with the forerunners.

...
They fired the Halo rings, then restored every species including humanity so life could basically restart...
And letting us reclaim their tech. What a punishment.

Of all the races mentioned in Cryptum I probably paid the least attention to the Prophets so forgive me if I missed that part. At that point in the novel I was probably chuckling to myself over the thought of a Prophet of Food who is so incredibly fat and heavy his gravity throne can't hold him and it creates sparks on the ground when he's on his morning stroll in High Charity.

They strayed from the mantle, but in the end reclaimed it the only way they knew how to. And for their mistakes, they died and passed the mantle onto us, the species which had found the cure to the flood when they could not.

Bungie.Match.com: Our Johnson knows what the ladies like.

All the Prophets we have seen are elderly. Their young are very likely attractive. (oh good lawd, that sounds weird.)

Okay, listen, we should get our stories straight, all right? If anyone asks, and no one's gonna ask, don't worry, but if anyone asks, tell them as far as you know, the last time you checked, everyone looked pretty much alive, all right? Not dead.

And good thing to. I have no wish to visualize this.

Uh...the prophets are really old so.....probably the younger San Shyuum are attractive...according to them?

Oh gawd.

Was that a Jarvis reference?

  • 10.12.2011 7:55 PM PDT

Why are you here?

I don't see how anything that looks slightly like them could be attractive.

  • 10.12.2011 8:10 PM PDT

I dont accept Cryptum as canon, and this helps my argument.

  • 10.12.2011 8:32 PM PDT

Oops. I think I just lost your mind.

They, clearly, would be attractive to each other.
Also, this sounds odd, BUT. Were we to see San 'Shyuum that weren't frail and decrepit, a muscular, healthy one could look almost graceful walking. They have long, thin limbs and a long neck, and their fingers and feet are like an ape's. I'm guessing a healthy one would be quite dextrous, would stand much taller than a human, and have an appearance rather like a less-exaggerated "mother alien" from the end of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, if you've seen it, considering their neck length.
Eerie, alien, but not a disgusting and degraded as the ones we see.

  • 10.12.2011 9:25 PM PDT

They probably used to look similar to Asari.

  • 10.12.2011 9:56 PM PDT

"Dude, what are you doing right now?"
"Uhh... Heh, my mom."
"Dude... What?"

Bow-Chicka-Wow-Wow.
