Warning: lengthy post!

Okay, the following may sound like I am bashing Bungie, flaming people who like Halo 2, or something of that nature. I want to start out by saying that BOTH Halo AND Halo 2 are amoung my favorite games ever. This is no anti-community rant in any way. Now that that's out fo the way, lets get down and dirty.

I'm not sure if any of you talk on Halo2forum.com, but the webmaster there has made a PDZforum.com website. I have been talking there since it's creation, and I am very fond of Perfect Dark Zero. I notice that the lag in this game is almost nonexistant. It makes me wonder... just hold that thought, okay?

I am personally tired of Halo 2, for reasons probably stated over and over again by many flamers, trolls, elitists and idiots. I'm not going to go into detail, but I feel that I am too good of an individual and/or team player to enjoy halo 2 anymore. It's just too easy for bad people to be good, and the tactics involve are too sour for my taste. I learned to be good at FPS's, particularly at team games, from playing Halo 2. I guess I just outgrown the game. I'm just tired of playing Halo 2.

There are tons of other gamers like me. I know there are. I went back to Halo 1 and re-discovered what a good game it was for a player like me. It is harder, there are many ways to win, and a bunch of other stuff many angry fans have probably mentioned. The only problem is my computer can't handle XBC, and I suck with a mouse, so the PC version just angers me. It's also not that lag-free either.. bleh...

A thought has occurred to me, and has been bugging me for a while now. I know from experience with PDZ that the 360 can have SWEET network performance. I think good connection, and I think Halo 1, and I get a very nice idea. Why not release a Multiplayer Halo 1 game for the 360 that is compatible with Xbox Live? I know that Halo 1 can be played on the 360, and I know that HUGE PC games can be played on the 360 (Oblivion) and even PS2 games (FFXI-O)

If this Halo 1 online game was released, I would be uber happy. Tons of people would. I bet this question has been asked over and over again. Maybe I'm too interested about this theroetical game, but I just want an official answer as to why It hasn't been done, so I came here. I know it has got to have been considered before, and I know the people at Bungie have decided not to make it for a reason. Since you are officially not working on Halo 3, why the hell not, ya know?

I'd like a member of Bungie to answer this for me with considerable details, if possible. I did a quick scan of the stickies here and didn't find anything. Sorry if this question has been answered in plain sight: I didn't see it.

Why? My post is asking about a new version of Halo 1, which is completely on topic in this forum. I'm simply saying "See Halo Xbox, why not make a port of it with Xbox Live?" I'm not asking about Halo 2 or 3.

Not liking Halo 2 anymore wasn't the emphasis, I just didn't want to start a flame war. I just want my question asked (even though that post is way too long for most people to bother reading).

Its like holding onto an electric fence, and complaining that it hurts, yet you still do it. See the stupidity now?

Im not flaming you, just asking a rhetorical (sp?) question. Why would Bungie make a xbox live version of Halo 1 when they have already completed Halo 2? I understand what you are suggesting and personally, The only thing I would take in H1 over H2 is the single player. For me, halo 1 was just a pistol fest (now its a BR fest..but more balanced). There are more options and stratagies to kill others in H2 than H1 imo, tho i miss a few of teh Halo 1 features. I also think the controls are tighter and the maps are better (i miss hang 'em high tho) in the sequal. The only real area that H2 dissapointed me was its single player...And yes i've gotten tired of H2 before but i came back after a 5 month break. Eventually, i'll get xbox live (playing XBC right now) and find out how good i am and experience halo 2 at its best.. Tho it would get Bungie...err..microsoft some more money, the project wouldnt have the massive selling dollars that Halo 2 or 3 would have.

I agree, when I eventually get broadband and 'live I will be able to enjoy the best parts of Halo 2.

Halo2 single player is boring, but im saving up for Live and playing PC Halo.

I know what you mean dude, but the problem is that there would have to be a whole new physiscs engine built, which would take time and take resourses away from their 'next project'. If Bungie ever did make an online version of Halo, then i would have thought it would be after their current project, but i still wouln't hold out much hope of it being made.

It's gonna be a big negative on that question. It somewhat has been asked, but ultimately they said to either live with the ping on both the pc and any tunneling service (xbc). Bungie said it is time to step up to bigger and better games since the nexgen system is out.

#1, don't flame, that applies to everyone equally.

#2 I won't lock your thread, but I can tell you that the only other version of Halo you'll get besides the one you already have on XBox, is one on PC. Period, there will be no 1.5 ever. Ever.

Lol, no. I was a 34 when I stopped playing Halo 2 competitively. I know I'm a worse individual player from all the PDZ I have been playing since Christmas, but I know that my teamwork skills are in tact and better than ever. All I'm really worried about is being a good teammate, afterall.

Ah, thanks Jim. Deep down I figured that...

I have one last question about the PC version, though. Both the Xbox and the 360 controller have a problem with moving using a joystick, in that there are only 8 directions that you can walk, and not a full, fluent motion as you turn the stick. This makes walking with a controller very choppy and unplayable. This only happens when I play multiplayer. Is there any way to fix this? Or is the limited movement built into the game engine itself? I've tried messing with the deadzone on the controller but it doesn't help.

Thanks ahead of time.
