In todays "mokey see monkey do" society its only natural for fakers and bandwagoners to jump onto the "looks like" or "sounds like" halo wagon. Doesn't nessisarily mean that Bungie is taking over the world, just hit a sweet chord in commerce.
However, all that asside, I think we all know (because of who \s working at Bungie) that world domination is something that bungie may have on their "silent work that we'll let everybody speculate about until we hit them with it broadside" project list. As much as they hide it, the signs eep out every now and then. Take for one the easy going "we own you" way they go about themselves. They've created a world and we're there little minions that run about their will. Must be nice for that power.
Their list of accomplishments points to (ultimatly) domination. They've beaten the MAC monster. They infiltrated the largest enemy organization of IT and home users worldwide, Microsoft, and looked damn good doing it. With Halo and other games they can literally control the sway of commercialism, video games and sermon anecdotes everywhere (I know I've used some in mine).
The nice thing about their brainwashing is it's not subliminal, its nice and in your face. As if we're a bunch of mindless consumers ready to believe whatever we're told...
Hmm, maybe we are.
