Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

What do you want to do at Bungie?

Working for Bungie is fantastic. Getting there is fairly similar in process, I imagine, as getting any other job in the games industry save a few caveats on specifics.

1) Find your passion (Programming, Production, Design, Art, etc.)

2) Make that your life. Study it, breath it. All day, everyday.

3) Go to a 4 year Uni for your passion.

3.1) While in Uni. join clubs related to Games/Game Development. Do everything you can and be involved in everything about games. Immerse yourself in Games and Game Dev.

3.2) Build Games or Build your portfolio with specific work that can be applied to the game field.

4) Try to get an Internship or Job in the field. It doesn't have to be at Bungie first. Real world experience on top of a nice portfolio will help. Although a nice portfolio with lots of talent and skill could throw you right into an interview with Bungie.

5) Keep working at your dream until you are satisfied with where you end up. You may or may not end up working for Bungie, but if you end up in game development I think you'd be happy. Have dreams, but be realistic too.

As far as where do I go from now?

Google everything. Read everything. Never stop. With the wealth of information on the Internet today you'll have no problem entertaining yourself for years to come. If you're very young (not ready for Uni yet), focus on your schooling and building your talent and skill for Games Development. You'll get there.

Key

If you're an artist: put together an unbelievable portfolio of your best work. If you're into concept art, show how creatie you can be wig as much detail as possible to demonstrate your ability to accurately and vividly display an idea.

If you're a programmer: make something that demonstrates just how awesomely good you are at what you do. From the basics to he highly complex. Think about providing a link to what you're using and/or what exactly you've put together.

I you're a writer: I think he only jobs open at the moment for writing are senior or head writer jobs. In this case you'll need a few years of experience in the field. In any case, show them both your control of the English language ( without being too flowery) as well as your ability to describe without having to make a reader think too hard (yet at the same time try to stray away from S-V or S-V-DO unless it makes absolute sense).

If you're good at (and most likely have a degree in) either or BOTH marketing and economics, they have a job open for an Econ specialist and (I think) some business relates positions.I haven't look and I'm on a mobile so I can't easily look at that page and this post at once.

If youre into community management: sorry, we already have a ginger.

If you're into security officiating: learn to wield a gravity hammer. Also, grow about 6 inches, no matter your current height.

None of these are official (especially the last two :P) but I hope hey help...?

Generalizations.
Helping idiots hate other idiots since people have existed.

Just find a Wild Stosh and feed him toast. You are then automatically a Bungie Employee.

Someone has just told me its not possible to live in the UK to work for bungie , also take into acount ive literally just finished school and want to head towards this line of work

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

You would have to move to seattle to work for bungie (I think, depending on which job you want). For the vast majority, if not all, positions at bungie, you would need to physically be in the studio to work.

Only after we ban Bricypoo.

What would you want to do at Bungie? That would effect what kind of schooling you would need

I think it depends on what you do. I think Killane worked for Bungie from his home on the other side of the country. Don't quote me on that.

We miss you Logan.
Ask any question. I'll help with anything on site or off.

Get out of high school. Go to college for what ever you wan't to do in the game industry. Then when you finish that, start applying for jobs.

Having a gamer score of OVER 9000 does not make you a "video game tester".

The NEIGHBOR of God.

Follow me on Twitter: @Godzneighbor

Xbox Ambassador: Feel free to ask any questions you might have about a Xbox issue in a PM to me. I may be able to help!

Minimum Requirements:

Atleast 2 years of experience (with some, some may require more experience.)

I believe you have to be atleast 18 years of age, since they make mature rated games, I'm not sure though. Most people will be around 20 years of age by the time they get out of college anyway.

Passion to make great games!

-That all I can really tell you, and that's just mainly from reading from the "Jobs" page.-

Hopefully, a employee over at the studio can help you with any questions you have.

Also, if you didn't see this here is the openings they have now. Carrer Opportunities!

Hope this sort-of helped!

I am...whimsical today.

Stay in the UK, there are a load of UK based developers. It's an industry that needs support, so support it :)

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

This. Bungie's a great inspiration for new developers, but not everyone will be able to get a job there. Focus on getting into the field and dabble into different kind of teams and genre's. Once you feel comfortable shipping to the U.S, I'm sure Bungie will be here.

If worse comes to worst, you'll work at a place you'd enjoy just as much in the U.K. =)Posted by: Guscon

But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are still alive.

Why wouldn't you have to move to the U.S?

When you say a "wizz on computers" are you fluent in programming languages?

Also, if you enjoy art with a passion, I would suggest you go for it!

Here's a piece of advice:

Decide what you want to do first, then decide where you want to do it. I'm sure Bungie is a wonderful place to work, but to have that as your sole objective is setting yourself up for disappointment and failure. There are many more things to take into consideration when looking for employment.

This guy sums it up nicely.

OP, judging by your writing, I suspect you're pretty young. I can honestly tell you that the things I wanted to do when I was 14 aren't things that I'm even remotely interested in now. I guess the point I'm trying to make is wait a few more years and see if you're still interested then, rather than wasting your current opportunities towards something that you might never achieve / want to do later on.
