Naming a door after a Halo 2 map makes sense in that guy's mind, though.
It's disturbing. You don't have to be snippy, you have barely been here for a year. LOL :p
I am just putting down as many Bungie related names as I can think of from Halo, Myth, ONI, Marathon, there are a lot
- you lose, HAHA
^ GNOP reference This is naming a lab, not list the most Bungie references you can.
You think "you lose, HAHA" would be a good lab name? "Oh yeah, I'm just headed up to my lab, you lose, HAHA", see it doesn't flow well in conversation, the point of this thread isn't to make as many Bungie references as possible but to think of a good lab name, random words you find lying around that reference the Halo universe don't fall under that criteria, the same way "Bet you can't stick it" isn't a good name for a box.
"Hey, do you have bet you can't stick it? I'm going to move and I need bet you can't stick it to hold my books." "Oh yeah, I think bet you can't stick it is over there, by I have defied gods and demons (An ironing board), left of lvurfr3nz (a stick) and right of Child of my enemy, why have you come? I offer no forgiveness for father's sins cast to his son. (a TV) If you reach Don't make a girl a promise... If you know you can't keep it.(A door) Then you've gone too far."
See it just doesn't work as a naming convention, it doesn't flow well in conversation, it's generally a bad idea.
Being referencial isn't even part of the prerequisites of the name, he could want a new original witty name, not something referencing things of the past; like the Ivory Towers, Marty named his sound studio that far before the level was names and/or released, the name wasn't really referencing anything related to Bungie.
