So i dont know if its legit or not...
The email message has the character and style of something from Bungie but the easiest way to know if it is a legitimate invite is by checking the sender. Anything along the lines of *****@bungie.com will be legitimate.

-Just saw your post. Congratulations, you got selected. Shoot a PM to DrBunsenHoneyDew if the link doesn't work. He seems to be the guy in charge of everything beta-test related.

If the email was sent from a Nigerian prince working at Bungie, be a little cautious.

Hahaha, that reminded me of this YouTube video.

Anyways... I have an invite to something from Bungie as well and the link does not take me to a valid page. I know it's some sort of bug since I've heard of people who got the invite getting a message that says "the slots are filled" if the beta is full, not just getting an invalid address page.

The email is legitimate. It was a private invitation to a research study at Bungie. We run studies fairly frequently on a variety of games, including games made by other people. The fact that we're running a study shouldn't be taken as evidence of anything in particular.

However, we do expect our beta testers to exhibit some modicum of discretion. Don't brag about being invited, don't post the email or survey online. As seen in this thread, posting this sort of thing brings on speculation that's not good for anyone.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

You are inviting people to come to Bungie HQ? :P

But, if people do come to Bungie for some tests, are they only people near Bungie HQ?
