Subject: That is so -blam!-...

ATTENTION MODERATORS. My latest ban (14-day ban from Qbix89) is not legitimate, take a look for yourself. Please review this before considering me a "repeat offender". Thank you.

Refusing to stop yelling until you get what you want? Spamming? Damaging a legitimate cause due to the sole fact that you continue to exist?

(Is it all three or a mix and match?)
Fine. I agree with the point he is trying to make. The profanity filter needs to be modified.

As for re-posting this topic several times, that's something that may make his point irrelevant to some, but I can look past that.

You forgot misrepresentation of information. "Achronos hand picked..." the words that would get removed, added, and kept. He removed some and added a few. Hardly a "hand picked" list if you ask me.

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

The profanity list hasn't changed in a long time because doing so requires a code update and test resources, and we prefer to spend those resources elsewhere. As such, no evaluation of the current composition of the profanity filter has been done, although I have posted on numerous occassions that it is probably due for a review.

As the site is generally dark and not receiving signficiant updates (content or code) for the time being, expect no changes in the short term. Your feedback on this particular subject has been noted. For future reference, I suggest losing the attitude when giving feedback in the future - being a huge jerk is not the way to get your feedback acted upon.

You forgot the part where you say "/thread".

Fix'd. OP needs to learn.

Wow, I never expected to get a reply from you.

Now that I have, well, thanks.

Thank you, I highly appreciate it, especially knowing that my "feedback on this particular subject has been noted."

I had not realised that there is such work that would go into revising the profanity filter. I have seen people post quotes and screenshots from you before, which indicated otherwise as far as the filter goes, however, I suppose they were 'edited' by the users posting them.

As for being a "Huge jerk," hahaha, I do apologize. I was getting quite frustrated from many of the previous responses I recieved from other B.Net users, and the locks/bans didn't help my attitude much either. However, I do understand now, and apologize.

Again, I greatly appreciate the response, I suppose I will continue to reply to anybody that has more input on this topic, but I won't be reposting this thread should it get locked again.

Thanks.

To some including me, yes

To others, no

I was young, I was surviving the times. Waiting for my moment I was destined to shine. And I seized it!

When a word is abused, it gets taken away. Simple as that. I don't see what the big deal is. Would you rather a word be used in a derogatory manner continually, or not see it all? The latter suits this community. Tough it out.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

I think it's only a perfect con example. That type of discussion shouldn't even be had on the b.net forums.

Did you really remake this thread for the fourth time? You had plenty of responses to go off of with the last three, it really looks like you were just trying to get an employee's response. Any discussion value in this thread will most likely just be a repeat of the last threads.

  • 10.13.2011 5:32 PM PDT

Why do you care so much?

It really isn't important.

I stated that I was looking for a response from an employee. I got it. Now I am satisfied and grateful.

I've been meaning to have a word with you about this filter. A little silly that we can't call a male rooster by it's proper name, but you can throw "dick" and "twat" around. And putting the first 4 letters of BUNGIE before the word HOLE is bad, but we can talk about donkeys (ass) with no problem. It's a little silly. Definitely in need of revamping, eventually.
