BCMagoo98 = I love Swat and Snipers cause I'm all about my headshots!!! Thanks for the great game Bungie I love you all!!!

As we all know Bungie's favorite number is 777. But why is it 777? Today I was thinking about numbers and i remember 777. 7x7x7=? 7x7=49 so 49x7=? 49x7=343! 343 industries! Pretty funny huh!? Let me know what you think.

I am...whimsical today.

I always imagines that 343i took their name from 343 Guilty Spark.

It was probably that, but Spark was in turn given the number 343 because of its relation to 7. So it's both, in a way.

7 came before 343. 7 has been a recurring number since Marathon.

Born to play Halo.

well it could be that one of Bungie's head CEOs or founder(s) could have been born on July 7th, but the third 7 I don't know where they got that from. Or it could be completely religious because 777 is supposed to be a christian or catholic symbol for Jesus or god (can't remember which) just like 666 is supposed to be a symbol for Satan. Or maybe someone in bungie is a big gambler and gets 777 on the slot machine a lot.

In Larry Niven's Ringworld, the Ringworld has to spin at a speed of 777 meters a second to preserve it's Earth gravity.

Since Bungie was heavily influenced by that book maybe that has something to do with it?

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

Has Bungie ever even acknowledged the inspiration of Ringworld, or has it just been fan conjecture? I don't remember them addressing that.

Anyway, their "favorite number" isn't 777, it's just plain 7.

Actually, 7 goes back even further to Pathways Into Darkness.

I played PiD and didn't notice many instances of 7.

I always thought 343i took it from Spark which was created using the number 7. Basically the same as stated above.

BOB-B-Q!
If only they brought back Marathon and Pathways into Darkness...

Yeah, most of the numbers that Bungie create for their games have to do with 7. 343i was made on purpose, and they took their name from the Halo campaign level. I thought we had a few sensible people in here. Everybody's here for some game called Halo! Needz moar Marathoners.

I'm guessing they're very hidden. Very hidden.

Some 7 references include:
7 dead German soldiers
Seven men in overcoats jump from the shadows and carry you away. You are never heard from again.
A ring of 7 dead Ghasts (which form piles of dust when they die) on the level Please Excuse Our Dust
7 Walther P4 magazines found on the level Ground Floor

While not as prevalent as in Marathon, they are still there.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Bungie's favorite number is 7. This is because their name has 7 letters i n it. The R is silent.

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

How comfy is that rock you live under?

Maybe it has something to do with bungie being formed on July 7th.

You know, 7/7?
