Best of random chance

I see your point, based off a thread that asked if moderators quarreled, but If they had reason to believe that useful feedback could come of it they probably wouldn't lock it.

I hate when people do that.

But, the reason all 3 weren't locked was becuase there were different mods watching the forums at the time.

And different mods have different opinions and interpretations about the rules.

And you can claim that how? Do you keep track of when every mod is on? I've seen all three iterations of this thread be on the main page... I doubt there is a mod that didn't see at least two.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

I completely understand your point, and maybe it's not fair, but making a -blam!- topic about it...?

If this was done on The Flood or Reach forum, no one would care, but it gets done on this forum and everyone raises hell over it. Is it just the way this forum's community is?

I'm blown away that it has come to this.

The Flood and Reach Forum are much faster forums, they don't really get noticed. This forum is much slower paced in thread creation, and it definitely is noticed when a user creates the same thread three times with the same content.

This.

I'm sure if the moderator that was responsible for his first ban for the post saw his third, he would have had the topic immediately locked and been banned.

Different moderators have different opinions and judgments. For instance, I was banned for participating in a quote pyramid in the Flood. Those happen all the time, and mods usually don't care, yet this person (and I say "person" because it was not a regular moderator) decided to ban all of us for 3 days.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Edit: It's funny, because Duardo posted in two of those threads... So, looks like you're a tad wrong.

Funny, I think that FURTHER proves my point becuase Durado was okay with the thread once and saw it again, and was fine with it.

Certain mods are okay with certain things, some mods are more strict.

It doesn't because that is the exact thing being complained about... Allowing repeat threads with zero change should not be allowed.

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

Posted by: evilcamI don't expect the moderation team to be omnipresent, but let's look at the facts here. There are 42 of you. I would have expected at least one of you to catch those threads (if not by recognizing that the OP had posted three times, then by taking a look at one of the threads and noticing the responses were "why are you posting this again, it was locked the first time"). I understand this is volunteer work and you guys have lives outside of B.net, but there were a lot of normal members catching this when it isn't their job to do so.

Given the fact that the community forum is relatively slow, there are 42 of you, and that incidents such as this are by no means uncommon, I'm left somewhat confused.

But, again, some mods let it slide.

The rules are laxed so "supposedly" more people are able to get away with trivial things.

I have been banned for very trivial things and I see people who post spam and other stupid things that never get in-trouble.

It is person, place, and time really.

I'm going to start making threads and repost them every other day until I get a response from Achronos. I can't wait for everyone to figure this trick out...

Then let's just replace those with The Classifieds, or The Gallery, or the Universe forums.

I was just saying that that is what would happen if you would try it probably.

I am pretty impressed this 1 person made 3 exactly the same threads, never got locked, on the slowest forum on Bungie.net.

I should, because you're really being ignorant. It says in his OP why the other threads were locked, and since you're not a forum ninja you can't constitute what is to be permitted or not. The threads were locked, therefore rule breaking.

You're using "constitute" incorrectly; it's best not to stretch your limited vocabulary too far in your responses to me.

Your final inference is absurd: something is rule breaking if it breaks the rules. A moderator locking a thread does not guarantee that that thread was against the rules, unless you think moderators are infallible. Given the sycophancy which mires this place, it's sad that this isn't unlikely.

This would have been more productive if you had just PMed a ninja instead of exaggerating not only the offense, but the connotation as to why it wasn't locked.

Though, I don't know, maybe there is something to discuss here.
Apologies, but I noticed one more aspect I didn't address.

This topic would not have been better served if discussed in a PM. There were quite a few members who saw those threads and may now have the belief that they too can keep posting threads until they get what they want (like it or not; acknowledge it or not, your decisions as moderators do establish precedents). They deserve an explanation just as much as I do.
