Then why is there no Marathon forum? Why?

You can discuss all of our legacy games in the Universe forum. There's just not enough traffic to warrant full forums for each title.

The Crimson forum has very little traffic. Let me explain.

At the time of the development of this post, the Crimson forum has 2,814 posts and has been active since August 30th, 2011, or 46 total days from the time of the development of this post. Simply by dividing the 2,814 by 46, the estimated posts-per-day comes to be 61.

Comparing the posts-per-day of the Crimson forum to other listed forums on the drop down menu, I come to the conclusion that the Crimson forum is one of the least active forums on the drop down menu, and even this website.

What should be done? Crimson discussion should either be moved to the Bungie Universe forum or have the forum's title changed to the Bungie Aerospace forum to accommodate to future Bungie Aerospace-sponsored games, and hopefully raise the activity significantly.

While we're on the subject, I must also say that there are 80 locked topics out of 300. That means that a whopping estimated 27% of topics in that forum are locked. No forum on this website has such a high percentage of locked topics. Most of these topics are off-topic posts, and even spam.

Please note that I am not completely advocating change to the Crimson forum. I am only supplying evidence and facts within this thread.

State your opinion on this matter. Thank you.

Edit: Just to clarify, by "locked topics", I was referring to topics that were locked manually. We are all aware of topics being locked automatically after they reach a certain amount of time of being inactive (which they become archived and receive this icon).

And as always, SEND ME A PM. Please. Or really bad things will happen to you.

It would be a lot more work to rename the Bungie Universe forum and then change the rules than it would be to give a game it's own forum. Keep in mind that they really want to push Aerospace so giving a game it's own forum is pretty good incentive for new developers to join the program.

Random thought; what if the marathon forum only got around 3 posts per day?

Crimson deserves its own forum in the sense that it's a new game under Bungie Aerospace.

When I said "change the forum's title", I meant the title of the Crimson forum, not the Bungie Universe forum.

Just wanted to clarify that. They could also go a separate route and just delete the Crimson forum and create a Bungie Aerospace forum. I'm sure you know what I mean though.

  • 10.15.2011 11:16 AM PDT

Maybe when more games are released under Bungie Aerospace it will just become the "Bungie Aerospace Forum". It would make sense, it would save room and give the forum a decent amount of activity.

It doesn't belong in the Universe section. Everyone can agree on that...

However, I think it should stay named as the Crimson section until more Aerospace games come out. For the time being, having it named the Crimson forum makes it very obvious as to where discussion should go.

So if you don't want change, then why create the thread? It obviously means something to you otherwise you would not have cared.

Besides, by your logic since the Classifieds doesn't get a lot of traffic or discussion it should be taken away.

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

Crimson gets a forum and Marathon doesn't because Crimson was released in 2011. The nature of iPhone and iPad games makes discussion about them less enthusiastic. I play a lot of Words With Friends but I would never join a Words With Friends forum.

Based on how this website has cycled over the course of its last couple of projects, something tells me we're getting an update soon that'll address some problems and make others obsolete. No reason to bother with a minor update like this when there's bigger fish to fry.

You're obviously biased about this, adding the whole I'm not advocating change, just supplying facts thing isn't true. You obviously feel that the forum should be taken down.

As I said before, by your logic the Classifieds forum ought to be taken down as well, as not a lot of discussion or activity goes on there.

Why does it matter? It's not effecting you or any other users only the ones who use the forum. It's their for a reason.

What a hipster.

At the moment Crimson is the only Aerospace game out, that being said, having its own forum is acceptable. When another Aerospace game is released (hopefully in the near future, but not likely), creating a single Aerospace forum to replace the others would be a great idea.

Yet, Crimson is still fairly new. All new games get their own forum for a certain amount of time, it stops the launch questions.

lol. Your a forum.

Using posts per day as the amount of traffic a forum gets is silly.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

I think that after another Aerospace sponsored game is released, the Crimson forum should be changed to the Aerospace forum. I mean, could you imagine having ten forums that inactive? It'd make no sense.

How do you come up with such a conclusion? Is making a topic stating facts on the traffic of the Crimson forum, expecting to start a discussion on a forum, prohibited?

I think we're starting to get into this territory I'm afraid. I ask nicely that we do not.

Please explain how. If I am correct, posts-per-day in a forum is a perfect indication of user traffic, unless users are visiting the forum and ceasing posting, which still cannot be considered "traffic" as they are not contributing to discussion.

I'm wondering if each game is going to get it's own forum, or it will just become a general Aerospace forum.

If Aerospace is really successful, a lot of forums might be set up.

Why are you so hesitant to say this topic is "unnecessary"?

Forums like The Classifieds have intended purposes that no where else may fit. On the other hand, the Crimson forum represents a game Bungie is affiliated with, and they have plenty of other games such as Uni and Marathon that are affiliated with them as well, but discussion for those games is held in the Universe forum. Why is Crimson so different?

Edit: Posted by: All of humanity
But it is considered traffic.
How? That's like saying there could be a large amount of unrecorded traffic coming through forums such as the Halo PC forum. That unrecorded traffic basically becomes irrelevant.

Again, they are also not contributing to discussion, so they are not taken into account.

Umm... because this topic is unnecessary. Does it kill you to see the Crimson forum up there under the community tab a little every day?

Forums like the Classifieds have intended purposes, Yes! By jove, you've just answered your own thread.

The Crimson forum is to be used to discuss Crimson, the Universe forum is to discuss past bungie games. Let's look at the description for it.
Discuss the game universes of Bungie games.
I've taken the liberty of making the best defense against your argument stand out. Bungie games! Yes, of course! Crimson wasn't made by Bungie, it was made by Bungie Aerospace. Therefore having no place under the Universe forums.

I wouldn't doubt however, that as others have said Bungie may lump all the Aerospace games into one forum.

Crimson is different because it is new. All the past new titles (published or created by Bungie) have their own forum, Crimson is no different.

What should be done? Crimson discussion should either be moved to the Bungie Universe forum
I DESPISE when people suggest that things should just be thrown into the Universe forum. The Universe's purpose is for the discussion of the STORY of Bungie's games, not general problems and questions about games, or their gameplay. That is why the designated game forums exist. If Bungie wanted everything about a game to be discussed in one forum they would not have the Universe forum at all.
