Subject: What Makes The Bungie Community So Successful?

Spread the love...

I truly believe that the success comes from Bungie itself.

Bungie drew us all into this site with Halo 1-2. People wanted to check their stats, compare games with friends, and just see all Halo stuff. Then, most of them left, going back to their Xbox's and never giving a second thought to b.net.

However, some stayed. They saw their stats, but something made them stay behind. It wasn't the lame jokes. It was Bungie's dedication to their fans, they're Weekly Updates, their friendly Forum posts, and much much more.

This cycle repeated itself with Halo 3, but now more stayed. The community grew. Forums were filled. With Reach, it came to it's max and the forums were filled with activity.

However, it's now been a while since Reach has come out. Halo is out of Bungie's control now, and slowly but surely people are leaving. The forums are becoming slightly less active. But Bungie's engagement has only increased, encouraging members to stay.

Since Bungie has gone dark, times have been rough. Urk hasn't gifted our brains and eyes with his updates and we have no games from Bungie to anticipate. But I look forward to the horizon and the amazing role that this community will play in Bungie's future.

Well done community.

Sorry if that wasn't clear in the OP. I'll edit it. What I wanted to be discussed was why you think Bungie has such a successful community.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

No, I'm pretty sure I stayed for the lame jokes.

If you don't agree with it, then you can explain why you don't agree with it.

  • 10.15.2011 9:10 PM PDT

I think it's because Bungie allows this community to even exist in the first place and interact with them. For free!

If Bungie didn't interact with the community or the people who play their games I believe they wouldn't be as successful as they are today.

That's my opinion.

If you don't agree with it, then you can explain why you don't agree with it.

Because just about everyone on the mains treat each other like dicks. ONce you get into the private groups it gets better, but a lot of them have almost no relevance to Bungie anymore.

Successfulness and having fun on this site are subjective issues. Individuals have a broad spectrum of feelings toward Bungie.net and its community.
