Idiot can be a hard language to learn, but once you get it down, everything becomes so clear! The whole world will make sense to you.

That looks amazing.

Pause at 0:52. You can scan allies as well as enemies. Flood included as well.

Great.

Now I need a Kinect. Does anyone know how much they currently go for in the U.S? I'd imagine by now the price would've dropped.

We should know better, because we are better.

Why do I have to get a Kinect for this? Why is everything incorporating Kinect or Move nowadays?

Eff this Kinect BS, man. I hate it with a passion. Pushing it on everything.

Will never buy it.

If this is your sole reason for getting kinect then there is bigger problems.

But to answer your question its still $150

No I was thinking about getting it anyway--a friend of mine has it and he sasys it's surprisingly good--but this just gave me that extra push I guess you could say.

And still 150? Damn.

Ever heard the word "optional"?

And I know Kinect hasn't been used well so far by developers, but FINALLY they are doing it the right way: optional and to complement the controller.
To be quite honest, Kinect is finally living up to its potential with games as Anniversary, ME3, Forza 4, Ghost Recon and Steel Battallion using it properly.

As for Kinect in Anniversary: looks really well done! I don't see myself playing the core gameplay with Kinect (won't be screaming GRENADE to throw one...) but the Library concept and voice controls look pretty good.
I doubted about buying a Kinect before, but with this and the other games I mentioned I might have too...

I loved scanning the flora and fauna in Metroid Prime, and reading up on the game's world in-depth. The fact that 343 are brining this feature to Halo is brilliant. I don't have a Kinect, though, unfortunately. I would really want to have that functionality.

Hopefully, they make this feature standard for Halo 4. I remember someone coming up with the idea of using the 'Domain' as a hub for information on this stuff, and perhaps if they did bring it to Halo 4 that would be the theme (considering the next trilogy is more centred around the Forerunner).

  • 10.16.2011 9:55 AM PDT

I understand it's optional, I'm just voicing my opinion that it's trivial technology that's being pushed on us. Childish arm waving junk.

I want no part of it.

That's my opinion.

This. It sounded like the 'library' option is only for kinect. Which sucks.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

I have a Kinect and I think this is BS. If nobody wants to shell out money for Microsoft's little motion peripheral, they get a bum deal? Metroid Prime had a similar feature without the use of a peripheral, 343 should've been able to put this in without Kinect as well.

We don't even know if its Kinect only (The Library function).
I really, REALLY doubt 343i would put it in but limit it to Kinect usage.

It's a bit similar to Forza 4's Autovista: all media only spoke about how you could use Kinect to walk around the cars. Never mentioned it also being available for non-Kinect gamers.

There are 4 buttons unused as it is for Halo (D-pad), and I suspect Library is integrated into one of those buttons but they market it as a Kinect option because its more of a unique selling point.

This makes me want to get Kinect, in all honesty. If they'd drop the price I'd go get it.
