You know, this really bugs me. E3 should be a time when we all come together to talk about the new info regarding Halo 2. Instead we have thread after thread of babies crying about how they need something balanced, removed, or changed. Have any of you babies played the game? You all answered no, which means you all need to stop -blam!-ing. I'm trying to enjoy all the new info, screens, and footage, but I can't even hear myself think past all this crying. Seriously, go read some of the hands-on reports. Every single one of them tells of Halo 2's greatness. And NONE of them complain about any of the topics in this forum. So stop talking about how bad a feature is, when you've never used it. The people who have played have spoken, and Halo 2 is great.

I totally agree, 100%. You people begin to whine and complain about balancing this, and fixing that, yet you have no idea how difficult it is, or even have the correct information half the time.

Well... Most of them are discussing the new information. So this thread is kind of useless.

Dicussing eh? I've been through countless threads criticizing features that they've never used. They sit there and cry about how unbalanced rocket tracking will be, or terrible the plasma sword will be. It's ridiculous. If they took 1/3 the time they spend -blam!-ing, and used it to read the countless hands-on reports, they'd see that those aren't even justifiable complaints. Tell me one place where someone who has played the game, complained about these things? You can't, because there isn't one. So this thread isn't pointless, the one's bashing Halo 2 are.

Dude, did you even read my posts? My problem is not the complaints, if they play the game and don't like it, that's their problem. The fact that they HAVE NOT PLAYED THE GAME, and still decide that some things are bad, that's what this is about. Read before you post, smart ass.

-blam!-

[Edited on 5/13/2004 4:23:51 PM]

  • 05.13.2004 4:23 PM PDT

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

I agree with you, but you should tone it down a little. Personally, I hate the threads about how much worse the plasma sword looks. The rocket tracking is more of a justifiable complaint, even it's annoying.
And -blam!-ing isn't a form of discussion, it's complaining. Constructive criticism is a form of discussion, which almost none of those threads are.
I don't mean to flame, but that thread that said the E3 2004 Bungie demonstration was a disaster was ridiculous. The crowd waited before applausing?? I don't think they did that at ANY booth! Woah, I yelled again. Sorry, but my point still stands.

I LOVED EVERYTHING I SAW IN THE DEMO!!! Who thinks they can tell Bungie how to make Halo 2 better? Just watch it again! I can't find one thing wrong with anything I saw!

And even if there was something you didn't like, you wouldn't -blam!- about it. Why? Because you haven't played it. It's unjustifiable.

And I'm not as mad as I sound, I promise. Just incredibly annoyed, and I want these forums to be rid of all the bull-blam!-. I know I'm not completely helping with this thread, but I want them to see that there's no reason to make such complaints. At least not until they've played.

I know, the moment I saw it, I was amazed. So much cool new stuff, and I have faith that Bungie will make it amazing. That, and all the hands-on reports. People that have played it, LOVE IT. They talk of wanting to play more, and how it's going to be awesome. It amazes me that anyone still has the nerve to bash it. I can't wait for this game.

I'm not going to attempt to "flame" you back, because that would be just a little immature. Instead, I'll show you how you're wrong. I am -blam!-ing, and I know it. The purpose of -blam!-ing is to voice your opinion on something that you think needs to change. I think that people need to stop criticizing something they've never even played. The reason my -blam!-ing is allowed, is because it's supported by facts and evidence, while their -blam!-ing is based on there thoughts about someting, rather than actual experience. And I might add how I'm not the one with a "hypocrisy filled life," you are. You call me a "flaming jackass" when you're the one trying to flame. I think maybe it's time you moved on, this discussion isn't here for you to build your self-esteem. Besides, I think recess should be starting soon, wouldn't want you to miss it.

jharbst is right, people do need to stfu. I am not outraged nor suprised by the number of negative people out there. Although they still will be in line to buy the game or if they are to cheap, just stay over at some guys dorm room and play it non stop. Halo was lucky just because no one expected a game that good to come out. The curse of a sequl is twinkled toed negative nancy who always get their panties up in a wad about everything that was new. However if there wasnt anything new, then they would -blam!- and call it Halo v1.2 or some crap.

Dont be suprised that a few of these negative nancys own just a GC or a PS2.

Okay, okay, okay. We heard you the first 3 times you posted the same thing. Look, I agree with you totally jharbst, but I am getting just as annoyed by the number of threads created about being dissappointed about Halo 2 in what ever ways, as I am getting annoyed with threads such as this one. There have been at least 3 individual threads about people such as yourself getting angry about people who have not yet played Halo 2 but have decided to critisize various things with it. I was just as angry as you were earlier today, but I have now noticed that we are simply fuelling the fire. By countering what the critics are saying, they will eventually come up with some new excuse to bash either Halo 2 or people such as yourself and I.

i find no fault in anyone getting pissed avbout what they dont like from the preview. the -blam!-ing you refered to origionaly i dont want to destroy, nor do i want to participate in it. however, nor do i encourage "counter--blam!-ing" by this precident, i apologize for my previous post. i just dont think you should repress people from voicing their concern about the origional halo gameplay style being destroyed. oh and youre right, i better leave, i dont want to miss recess god damn.

I see what you're saying. But I back up what I say with evidence, and they just prance around shouting what they think, with no such support, and expect it to stand. Maybe that works in the land of n00bz, but it won't work here. And that's why I'll continue to support my position on this. Although I'm going to try and be less of an -blam!- about it, I think that everyone already knows that I was pissed. No need to be anymore, I'll just keep on showing the facts, nothing else I can do.

Forum elitism is fun. You guys need to calm down. While it is annoying that people actually think bungie will listen when they say "Take out homing rockets!" or something similar, you can just ignore them. Let the idiots be idiots. No one is forcing you to discuss anything in particular (except that it has to involve halo). Simply chill. People have a right to discuss what they want. Even if you don't agree, that doesn't give you liscence to be a douche.

I hear what you are saying, but the thing is there have been about 8 threads created about the same unnecessary bashing of Halo 2. jharbst's point is that they are bashing Halo 2, when they have not played it and have no justifiable reasoning for their bashing. I agree with him wholely, but its getting out of hand on both sides. We cant prevent those who wish to bash Halo 2, not by any words or any means as only the moderators have such power. Nor can we prevent people such as jharbst from what you call "counter--blam!-ing". With newly released videos of Halo 2 it is natural for speculation and doubts to surface, but you cant prevent it, so all we can do is attempt to supress it on both sides.

I agree with you for the most part, though you can't blame people for being skeptical. I am looking forward to Halo 2 more then anything else in the world, and I really want it to be the best it can be. But for all you people out there that are worried, just tell youself what I tell myself... Trust Bungie!
