Honestly, I truly believe this. I played every Call of Duty and multiplayer since the 1st PC version, all old and new Halos, Goldeneye 007, all 3 gears, most battlefields starting from 1942, and a crap-ton of other shooters and games as well. However, nothing was as enjoyable, unique, and lasting as Halo 3 was.
I used to play Halo religiously, taking breaks for CoD4 and stuff when it came out and I would -blam!- talk halo a little bit but I'd always be back. Playing doubles or social with my friends and steamrolling, making one months, MLG customs, getting my first 50... and even after all this, if I was getting frustrated I could always play infection or something with a bunch of first lieutenants or grade 3 captains and still have a great time. No frustrations, just mindless uncompetitive fun. Theater let me relive my greatest moments, and forge was there when I was really bored and wanted to screw around.
Not sure if anybody is even gonna read this or agree with me on this, but it's been nearly four years since Halo 3 and it makes me sad to think of how great it was in its prime. Halo Reach just isn't as fun for me, I don't know why. I just don't do as good and don't enjoy myself as much even if I do.
Shoutout to Bungie for making the best game ever. Hopefully Halo 4 turns out amazing without you.
