So, when a post that was the most recent post in a thread gets deleted the user who posted the deleted post still shows up as the latest poster. Is this supposed to happen? It's not a big deal, just wondering if I observed correctly. Sorry for not explaining it all to well either, used "post" too much.

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

I understand what you mean, but i think you may have either miss-observed or seen the result of something different. I remember seeing a post that i got a moderator to delete, it then showed the poster before him as the most recent poster (which, actually, was me).

If you have observed correctly, then I’m guessing this only works if the poster is not blacklisted. i.e. if their post is deleted due to temporary blacklisting, then their name will still show. This, therefore, would be fine and done on purpose because when they are un-blacklisted, their posts should show again.

If, however, someone's post was deleted and they were also blacklisted, then it should not show them as the most recent poster.

The post is not deleted, it is merely hidden until the poster is unbanned or his blacklist expires.

Unless the post is deleted...

I don't mean the "Moderator notice" thing. Look at some of the recent threads in the Septagon, a member named Halo Master 4875 is listed as the most recent poster in several threads yet, upon inspection, there is no post from them.

He was blacklisted. He made a duplicate account and started spamming the forums after he was blacklisted the first time. So as Captain said in that case, his posts are simply hidden.

That would not involve the original poster's name still being visible. If their name is still visible then they were blacklisted.

I'm not that active, but never dead.

The "Moderator Notice" only displays as the first post of any thread created by a blacklisted member. Any non-first posts of theirs are merely hidden from view until their blacklisting expires.

Unless the post is just to good to hide.
