Never fear for I am NOT here!

I enjoyed Halo 2, it had an amazing campaign story line, and brilliant multiplayer maps. It would be great if it was re-made.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Of course, I would. That'd be amazing. Will it actually happen? Big maybe.

"Apparently people don't like the truth, but I do like it; I like it because it upsets a lot of people. If you show them enough times that their arguments are bull-blam!-, then maybe just once, one of them will say, 'Oh! Wait a minute I was wrong.' I live for that happening. Rare, I assure you."-Lemmy of Motorhead

For Carnage Apply Within - Fatum Iustum Stultorum

"Do not mistake your rank and number for superiority. The oldest child may learn from the youngest."

You all realize that it has been just under seven years since Halo 2 was first released, right?
You do realize that you can pick up the game for around $10 USD and play it on a 360, right?
You also realize that if you want to play Halo 2 multiplayer, you can get the PC version for nearly as cheap, right?

There is no need to re-make a game less than ten years old. Sadly, this is becoming a trend since some consumers are clamoring more and more for simple re-makes than original creative content. Many publishers have said they want to release a major title every year over the course of an intellectual property, and with the nature of gaming currently, my guess is that we are going to see a lot of remakes. You all may be whining for it, wanting to replay a game you already own, but personally, I find it to be disgusting.

This is actually the stupidest thing ever posted on B.net:

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

No remake.

The simple fix: Re-release Halo 2 on the Xbox Live Marketplace with Online Multiplayer enabled.

Some more frequent then others "cough" The legend of Zelda Ocarina of time "cough"

Personally I don't mind a remake, and seeing at vvhat they are doing to Halo CEA, its clear to me the 'little' guy grevv up.

No, Bungie is the only one who could make it good, because they understand the story. Anyone else would just not have the background to pull it off.

1997: Ocarina of Time released.
2011: Ocarina of Time 3D released.

14 years between. Ocarina 3D improved the blurry textures, sorted out frame-rate issues and fixed the limitations of technology imposed by the N64.

If you're referring to releases on the Gamecube and Virtual Console, those aren't remakes. They're just ports of the original N64 game so that it can be played on more current consoles.

You chose a terrible example. Now go throw yourself into Tartarus for speaking ill of the best game ever made.

"Sir, finishing this fight"
--- Master Chief -- Halo 2

honestly I don't think they should make a remake of halo 2 but since they did halo they will do the same for halo 2. why? because microsoft is greedy and will milk the halo name for all the money it can, don't get me wrong I love microsoft, but they are going to run halo into the ground :(

edit: and microsoft has already announced a couple months ago that they will release a halo game every year

I can imagine a Halo 2 remake between Halo 4 and 5.

  • 10.18.2011 4:48 PM PDT

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

The simple fact remains that there doesn't need to be one.

In my opinion I would love a remake of one of the best Halo games ever created. I loved the multiplayer maps (like headlong) and the campaign was BEAST!!!

  • 10.18.2011 5:39 PM PDT

Halo 2 is my fav halo yet, so yes

Far from fact.

Halo 2 is not 'next gen'
Halo 2 online is disabled. (PC in no way truly replaces it)

...those were so general that I didn't have more reasons, those kind of covered it all without being necessarily specific.

Considering the money to be made, Microsoft could say "Fact is we HAVE to remake it."

Of course there are some reasons not to aswell.

Not a celebration of the series (which Halo CEA is)
Would Halo 2's return take away from other games? (Halo CEA or Halo 4 or 5 or...)
Will it sell to justify the development process? (see Halo CEA sales)

Who knows?

  • 10.18.2011 8:34 PM PDT

Generalizations.
Helping idiots hate other idiots since people have existed.

Putting it on the marketplace w/ Xbox Live would do just fine.

  • 10.18.2011 8:39 PM PDT

3 years and only 1 ban, try harder next time noobs.

Perhaps when Xbox live turns 10, Halo 2 did make xbl.

There doesn't need to be an Anniversary either.

If it's not hurting anything, WHO CARES? As long as it's worth the money with amazing visuals and more.
