Subject: Rating system on Bungie.net?

My Arsenal:
Bass Pistol
Sawed off DropGun.
Dubrifle.

Kind of like reddit. But the amount of up or down votes a thread gets doesn't move it anywhere on a page.

Would you like the idea to give a thumbs up to a comment or thread?

I would.

What do you guys think?

Best of random chance

Yes, but I don't this would happen without b.net first expanding to a friends list and instant messaging etc.

It's not a fix, it's an upgrade. You shouldn't fear change.

I don't like the idea of further cluttering up the page.

I can see people spamming and abusing that option.

OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

No way. I can imagine people just randomly spamming the thumbs down on certain hated members while blindly thumbs upping a forum ninja, employee or well liked member of the community.

The tide is turning, brothers! Let us take our kingdom back!

I can't see that working out for the best.

  • 10.18.2011 10:23 PM PDT

Absolutely. As evidenced by its use on other sites (inc. forums), with the right filters and tools, it can be an invaluable feature for finding content you want.

Clicking a button that increments a counter is clearly more abusive, distracting, and annoying than making pointless posts in the middle of an actual discussion of something.

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

As long as it's just a number with no other effect on anything else, then I can't see why not.

This is all assuming people that post "+1 IF YOU AGREE", "LOOKS LIKE 37 PEOPLE DIDN'T ______", and the like get permabanned.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are still alive.

I would like something similar to Facepunch, where you can rate a comment funny, optimistic, agree, disagree, informative, winner, friendly, dumb, etc.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Acting as a different user, he rated himself. However without the actual option to rate yourself he had to spam the thread to show he agrees.

I know it didn't need explanation anyway, but just for those who didn't understand.

With this mentality, we'd all still be living in caves and dragging women around by the hair.

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

I like this idea.
I've always wanted to be able to like things here.

I've got this funny feeling that Daz gets confused at times, and thinks he is another person entirely.

I agree with Daz. If they do it correctly, they could implement such a system. However, I feel on this site, it could be abused very easily.
